The Dakota Writing report gathers the results of the South Dakota writing test taken by 5th, 7th and 10th grade students. The report generates in a format that can be sent home with individual students.

Description

Date Range

The dates for which writing test results are collected. Second date defaults to current date.

Extract FormatYou can generate the report in DOCX or PDF format. 

Calendars

The calendar(s) from which data is pulled for the report. This can be set to display only the active year, or be sorted by school or by year.

Generate the Extract

  1. Enter a Date Range in mmddyyyy format or by clicking the calendar icon.
  2. Select the Extract Format. You can generate the report in DOCX or PDF format. 
  3. Select the Calendar(s) to be included in the report. Calendars can be sorted by active year, by school or by year.
  4. Click Generate Extract. The report displays in a separate window in the designated format. 

The report generates with one page of the report per student test result. Each page begins with a header that displays student name, student ID, student birth date, test date, grade, school and district.

Following the header, the Dakota Writing Report includes descriptions of the standards used to evaluate the exam. This section defines both assessment standards and identifies numeric values used for scoring student writing progress.

Individual student scores display in the third section of the report. The score entered in the assessment record is coupled with the standard description describing the student's achievement level.

The numeric values of the student's score are taken from the values recorded in the Raw Score column of a South Dakota Writing Test area of the student's Assessments record.
