Activity Registration

Roll Forward Error Corrected (SIS-156535)

An issue was identified where users saw an error message when using the Activity Registration Roll Forward tool and there was a preapproval configuration conflict related to the new Preapproval process (SIS-151131) that was released with Campus.2223. This issue was corrected.

Activity Registration Maintenance (SIS-156234)

Enhancements

  • Approvers who are associated with a Preapproval record but are no longer active in Campus or were removed from a Preapproval Configuration now display on the Preapproval panel in the Activity Dashboard and the Activity Monitor. Previously, Campus removed the approver from the list of Approvers on the Preapproval panel.
  • The headers "Required Forms" and "Optional Forms" were added to the Registration Status dropdown list on the Activity Roster to help clarify the options and remove the words "optional" and "required" from the individual filter names. As part of this change, registration records with the status "Optional Forms - In Progress" were converted to "Review Needed." An additional filter called "Complete" was added for optional forms.
  • The "Activity Staff" and "Activity Preapproval" staff roles are now available in Ad Hoc as part of the Census/Staff Data Type under Staff > Assignment.

Fixes

  • Preapproval notifications were not displaying for user accounts with the Home Page set to "Campus Instruction." This issue was fixed.
  • When an activity is in a state past step 5 of the Activity builder, additional changes to the activity should no longer prompt for Preapproval if a Preapproval Configuration was made after the activity’s creation.
  • When changing the name of an activity proposal there was no notification that the activity name no longer matched the product name. This issue was corrected and Campus now prompts the user to update the product name to match the activity name on the proposal.
  • Users could not manually add a student to a roster if a registration had already been started in Campus Parent or Campus Student. This issue was corrected.

Dialer Extract (SIS-155452) [Enhancement]

Control Center Attendance Update (SIS-140439) [Enhancement] 

When a student is rostered into multiple sections in the same period, the Attendance tool only displays that student once. Previously, the Control Center showed the student multiple times, but has now been updated to match the Attendance tool logic.

Read-Only Lockers Access (SIS-150931) [Enhancement] 

The Lockers tool has been updated to allow teachers to be assigned only read-only access to the tool so they can view locker assignments without being able to edit them. Tool rights have been updated to add a new "Edit Lockers" sub-right.

Classroom (New!) (SIS-154341) [Enhancement] 

Classroom provides a new section-based paradigm for teachers, compared to the tool-based structure traditionally found in Instruction. When enabled, Classroom collects related tools and presents them within the context of a single section.

In conjunction with the release of Classroom, the Control Center has been renamed to 'Teaching Center' for all users. Additionally, tools in the Instruction menu of the navigation have been rearranged.

In the Classroom view, tools are divided into four tabs. The first tab, Classroom, provides a summary of the section as well as a list of current and upcoming curriculum, with easy access to assignments, resources, and folders, as well as submissions and scoring. The Curriculum tab provides the same curriculum functionality found in tools such as the Grade Book and Planner, where teachers can search, filter, and view their curriculum. The Students tab collects a variety of tools related to classroom administration, such as the Roster, Attendance, and Seating Charts. Finally, the Grades tab collects grading-related tools such as the Grade Book, Post Grades, and the Progress Monitor.

When in the Classroom view, each tool is displayed in the context of that section. Switch sections using the dropdown list at the top, or by using the Home button to return to the Teaching Center (formerly Control Center) and select a different section.

There are two steps to enabling the Classroom view. First, districts must enable Classroom for all students and parents via the Classroom Settings tool. When enabled here, Campus Student and Campus Parent will see the new Classroom view in place of the Course Info tab, accessed throughout the apps by clicking the name of a Course Section. Next, each individual teacher has the option of enabling Classroom using the toggle in the top right corner of the Teaching Center.

Campus Student/Parent

Campus Student/Parent Updates (SIS-156481)

The following updates have been made to Campus Student and/or Campus Parent:

  • Updated accessibility.
  • Previously, parents with staff user accounts in Campus were not correctly reported in the Portal Usage Report. This has been corrected.
  • A Calendar dropdown list has been added to the Assignments tool to filter assignments based on the enrollment/calendar of the assignment.
  • Students using Android devices can now upload files via the app without being redirected to a web browser.

Contact Log

Contact Log Display Correct Enrolled School (SIS-113146)

Previously, if a student switched school enrollments, the Contact Log was displaying the incorrect school for that student on the PDF print format. The Contact Log has been updated to display the currently active enrollment for the student's Grade and School in the header. If the student is not actively enrolled, the Current Grade displays as N/A and the Current School displays as "Not actively enrolled."

Contact Log Fix (SIS-154744)

Data Change Tracker

Attendance Tables Moved to Excluded Tables Area of Data Change Tracker (SIS-153690) [Enhancement] 

Attendance tables have been moved to the Excluded Tables section of the Data Change Tracker. Although Attendance tables were already excluded from Data Change Tracker functionality, this change was needed to add clarity and visibility to their exclusion. Attendance tables are excluded because this data is already captured in the core attendance auditing structure within Infinite Campus.

Digital Repository

Digital Repository Preferences Reworked to Improve Clarity and Usability (SIS-151999) [Enhancement] 

Digital Repository Preferences have been completely reworked to greatly improve clarity into current data usage, provide file upload preferences, and consolidate all preferences into sections within a single tool instead of individual tabs.

Now when accessing the tool you are first shown a Cost Calculation section, detailing the user’s cost per gigabyte, their estimated billable usage for the year, their current non-billable allotment for the year (amount of space not billed to the customer) and their current total usage. A graphic is provided, showing how this data is used to calculate their current billable usage for the year and a pie chart breaks down how much space is being used per area of Infinite Campus.

Preferences that used to be individual tabs are now expandable sections within the tool where you can individually enable or disable document attachment functionality per tool.

You can also view the terms of service by clicking a new View Terms button found near the bottom of the tool.

Ed-Fi

Ed-Fi Bug Fix for Leading Spaces on Period Schedule Name and Period Name (SIS-156492)

The Period Schedule Name and Period Name fields were previously being sent to Ed-Fi with a leading space. Ed-Fi accepted the data, but the data could not be used as a reference which was causing all dependent resources to error. The Ed-Fi code has been updated to remove the extra spaces to prevent this issue from occurring in the future.

Fee Billing Statement Update (SIS-156615)

The Fee Billing Statement (Fee Billing Batch Report) was displaying the Household Fee Max Adjustment as a separate adjustment and as part of the Student Fee Max Adjustment which caused the Balance to be calculated incorrectly. This issue was corrected.

FRAM

FRAM Letter Batch - Direct Certification Approval Letter Had Incorrect Eligibility (SIS-120548)

When two students in the same household had different Direct Certification eligibilities with the same start date, the Direct Certification Approval Letter was reporting the same eligibility for both students. This issue was corrected. Now, Campus will generate a separate letter for each student in the household who is approved with a certification and eligibility combination that is different than other student(s) in the household.

In the Campus.2140 Release Pack (September 2021), a new Data Validation Tool for the CALPADS SENR extract was made available.

The validations have been expanded and that tool can now be used to verify student data prior to submission to CALPADS for the following extracts:

Vocational Education options for WBL have been updated to include a new Code 8: Industry Sponsored Project.

  • When a student has a Vocational Education Record that was active at any time during the school year with a Status of PAR: Participant, that student only reports as PAR: Participant.
  • When a student has a Vocational Education Record that was active at any time during the school year with a Status of CON: Concentrator, that student reports as CON: Concentrator and PAR: Participant.
  • When a student has a Vocational Education Record that was active at any time during the school year with a Status of COM: Completer, that student reports as COM: Completer, PAR: Participant, and CON: Concentrator.

  • When a student has multiple Vocational Education records with matching VE Program ID and CIP Code, all applicable statuses report in one row.

The Discipline by Action Report was incorrectly reporting students when they had an incident with a State Event Type of 12 AND a State Resolution Type of 07. This combination of event types and resolution types are exempted from reporting and has been corrected.

The Discipline by Action Summary and Detail formats, as well as the Discipline by Student Demographic File Summary and Detail formats report the same value for the Other Action and the Other Action Taken Incidents field.

The Location of Incident reports from the enrollment record that was active on the date of the incident. When the student has more than one enrollment record that is active on the date of the incident, the primary enrollment reports.

Kansas - Section 504 Tool (SIS-148676)

The Section 504 tool is now available for Kansas districts. The Section 504 field on the Enrollment Record is now read only.

Existing data for Section 504 already entered for 2022-23 enrollments has been converted to the new tool. Only one Section 504 record for each student has been converted, using the most recent enrollment when a student may have multiple enrollments. The following conversion was done:

  • When the Section 504 field on the enrollment record had a value of 1, a Start Date of July 1, 2022 exists in the Section 504 tool, with a blank End Date.
  • When the Section 504 field on the enrollment record had a value of 2, a Start Date of July 1, 2002 exists in the Section 504 tool, with an End Date of the date the conversion took place.

The KIDS EOYA Collection Extract has been updated to report Section 504 data from the new tool, with the following logic:

  • When a student has a Primary Disability of WD, a value of 1 reports.
  • When a Section 504 record exists AND the Start Date is on or before the To Date on the Extract Editor and the End Date is null or on or after the To Date on the Extract Editor, a value of 1 reports.
  • When a Section 504 record exists AND the End Date is not null and is after the enrollment start date and is before the To Date entered on the Extract Editor, a value of 2 reports.

Michigan - General Collection/Student Record Maintenance - New Component (SIS-149758)

Two new checkboxes have been added to the MSDS extract editor called 'Special Education' and 'Early On.' When the Special Education checkbox is marked, the InitailIEP, SpecialEducation, and ECSpecialEdAssessmentType components are reported. If the Early On checkbox is marked, the EarlyOn, InitialIFSP, PartBReferral, PartCAssessment, and EarlyOnServices components are reported. The EarlyOnServices component is new and reports at the end of the extract. The Early On checkbox has been removed from the Enrollments tab; reporting the EarlyOn and InitialIFSP components no longer require that this checkbox be marked. A new field has been added to the EarlyOn component called EligibilityReason. The following fields have been removed from the PartBReferral component: ParentStreetAddress, ParentCity, ParentState, ParentZipCode, and ParentPhoneNumber. The Contacts component has been updated.

Michigan - Student Residency Field (SIS-154553)

The Student Residency data has been moved from the Enrollments tab to a new Residency tab in State Programs. This new tab includes Residency, Start Date, End Date, and Comments fields. Minnesota - New Fields for Direct Post Secondary Admission (SIS-156350)

Three new fields have been added to the Minnesota General Enrollment Information editor. Schools participating in the Direct Post Secondary Admission pilot program will use these fields to document a student's DPSA tier or to exclude them from consideration. These fields will only display for students with an enrollment with a State Grade Level Code of 12.

  • DPSA Calculated Tier
    • will be populated by the Direct Post Secondary Admission tool (currently in development)

  • Exclude from DPSA Calculation

Corresponding filter fields have also been added to Ad Hoc.

Missouri MOSIS Pre-Code File Updates (SIS-154271)

Several updates have been made to the MOSIS Pre-code File, including:

  • the Date Range fields has been replaced with an Effective Date field.
  • logic has been updated to only report student enrolled on or after the Effective Date.
  • the description on the screen has been updated to address the Effective Date field.

Montana – NCES District Override Field Added to School Editor (SIS-153086)

A new field called ‘NCES District Override’ has been added to the School editor. If populated, this field is used to override the NCES School Number when reporting NCES data within reports. This field is needed for schools who have an NCES LEA ID which differs from their district’s NCES LEA ID.

Montana – State Assessment Test Settings Updates (SIS-155870)

The following updates were made to the State Assessment Test Settings tool:

  • The following instructional text was added: “Test Accommodations with an ‘504’ prefix are applicable to 504 students and those students who are both 504 and EL. Test Accommodations with an ‘EL/504’ prefix are applicable to EL students, 504 students, and those students who are both 504 and EL.”
  • Tool behavior has changed so that when Smarter Balanced Math – PT is selected in the State Assessment dropdown list, the Test Settings > Smarter Balanced Math field is made available for selecting one or more accommodations.
  • All previous Test Setting codes were deactivated and replaced with new codes provided by the state.
  • The Smarter Balanced Math – CAT field has been renamed Smarter Balanced Math and is available when 'State Assessment' = Smarter Balanced Math-CAT or Smarter Balanced Math-PT.
  • The Smarter Balanced Math – PT field has been removed. Historical data will remain in the database and is accessible via Ad Hoc.

+Utah – State Score Field Added to Score Groups+ (SIS-155900)

The State Score field has been added to the Score Groups editor. This new field allows users to align a State Score value to each score within a score group.

Along with this update, logic for the SIF StudentSectionEnrollment/GradeEarned element has been updated to the following:

1. Reports the State Score when not null, from the Grading Task assigned to the student in the section that has “State Reported” and “Final” = checked.

2. If State Score is null, report Score (Grading & Standards > Score Groups & Rubrics > Score Group List Items Detail > Score), from the Grading Task assigned to the student in the section that has “State Reported” and “Final” = checked.

3. When > 1 grading tasks for the same term has “State Reported” and "Final" = checked, reports the grade with the highest (latest) ID grading score.

4. When the qualifying State Score and Score is blank, or there is no qualifying Grading Task, reports this element as blank.

Wisconsin - P-EBT Instruction Mode Updates (SIS-156875)

The Instruction Mode tool (released in Campus.2223) has been modified to track Learning Modality.

  • A new Learning Modality field has been added to the Instruction Mode tool. This field indicates how the student is receiving instruction - in person, remote, or hybrid.
  • The P-EBT Instruction Mode field is no longer required. This field tracked why a student was receiving instruction remotely - learning virtually or a COVID absence.

A conversion was done for those students with existing Instruction Mode records to populate the Learning Modality field. See the article below for details on that.
