Tool Search: Crisis Event

The Crisis Event tool tracks students who were enrolled, or are eligible for enrollment, but have temporarily or permanently enrolled in another school or district because of a crisis-related disruption in educational services.

Use the Federal/State Program Updater tool to import Crisis Event information to this tool.

Add a Crisis Event

Fields in red with an asterisk are required.

  1. Click the New button. A Crisis Event Detail editor displays.
  2. Enter the applicable information for the student.
  3. Click the Save icon when finished. The saved record displays in the Crisis Event Summary.

Print Summary Report

Select the Print Summary Report button to generate a summary report of the selected student's Crisis Event records.

Document Upload

Schools for which the Campus Digital Repository has been enabled may choose to give staff the rights to upload documents for students' Critical Events records. See the article on Digital Repository Preferences to learn how to do this.

  1. Click the Documents button to open a side panel where documents can be viewed and uploaded.
  2. Click Upload
  3. Use Select files to browse to where the document to be uploaded is located. You may select a file to open, or drag and drop the file to upload. You must select the consent box to proceed.
  4. Save.
  5. The uploaded document is visible in the Documents side panel under Document List. Select a file to view it. Use the red X next to a file to delete it. Use Upload to upload additional documents. Cancel to exit the side panel.

Crisis Event Information in Ad hoc Query Wizard

Crisis Event Information is available in the Query Wizard for Student Data Type filters in the Student > Learning > State Program > Crisis Event folder. 

Fields available on the Crisis Event Detail editor are noted in the Crisis Event Field Descriptions section below.

The fields listed here may not be the fields available in your state. 

Field Description Ad hoc Field Name Database Location
Start Date Indicates the date on which the crisis event began. This is a required field. crisisEvent.startDate CrisisEvent.startDate
End Date Indicates the date on which the crisis event ended. crisisEvent.endDate CrisisEvent.endDate
Crisis Code Indicates a state health or weather-related event that impacts a group of students, and may require additional funding, educational, or social services.

These fields are state-specific.
