Tool Search: District Residency

The District Residency tool documents a student's residency that is not tied to their Enrollment. The information below is specific to the state of North Dakota.

List Screen

The list screen displays all student district residency records. Records are ordered by Start Date, with the most recent Start Date record at the top of the list. When records exist with the same Start Date, then they are ordered by District Name.

ApplyLists records based on the date filter
Start DateThe first day of the student's district residency.
End DateThe last day of the student's district residency.
Created ByThe user who created the record.
Resident DistrictThe district where the student lives.
Serving DistrictThe district where the student receives services.

Detail View

Click the View button to open the detail view for an existing record, or click New to create a new one.

Add/Modify District Residency Records

  1. Click New in the action bar across the bottom. 
  2. Enter the Start Date (required) to indicate when the student's District Residency began.
  3. Select the appropriate Resident District (required) for the student. 
  4. Enter the appropriate details for the District Residency record.
  5. Click Save when finished.
  6. Click Print to display a PDF view of the student's District Residency records.
  7. Modify existing records by clicking anywhere in the appropriate record row and making the necessary adjustments. Save when finished. 
  8. End a record by clicking anywhere in the appropriate record row and add an End Date. Click Save when finished.

District Defined Elements

District-specific data elements are established using the District Residency attribute (screen location) in the Custom Attribute/Dictionary tool.

  • Fields do not display in the District Residency Editor. Users must select the record to see this detail.
  • The header for this section will not be displayed until district-defined elements are added
