Tool Search: Programs
Texas CTE Programs allow users to track the following information for Career Tech Education (CTE) students: single parent status, pregnancy, transportation, displaced homemaker status, CTE funding eligibility, and WBL Course and Service IDs. Program eligibility dates determine active status of all additional fields. These fields are described in more detail below. For more information on the general function of this tool, please see the Academic Programs (Academic Planning) article.
Be aware that field settings are tied only to the selected program and program dates.
Career Tech Program - Participation Detail Fields
CTE Funding Exempt
When marked, this checkbox indicates the student is not eligible, during the user-defined date range, for CTE funding. CTE funding may be applied outside of the date range.
Single Parent
The Single Parent field indicates whether the student in the career and technical education program is unmarried or legally separated from a spouse; and has a minor child(ren) for which the parent has either custody or joint custody.
Pregnant Teen
The Pregnant Teen field indicates whether the student in the career and technical education program is pregnant.
Transportation
Checking the Transportation checkbox indicates the economically disadvantaged student enrolled in a career and technical education course receives special transportation services to enable the student to commence or continue career and technical training.
Out of Workforce
Marking this field indicates an individual who has worked for a substantial number of years providing unpaid household services for family members and is not currently gainfully employed. This term includes those who are unemployed or underemployed and individuals who have had or would have difficulty in securing employment.
This group also includes those individuals who:
- have been dependent on the income of another household member but are no longer supported by such income; or
- have been dependent on public assistance but are no longer eligible for such assistance or may have been terminated from such assistance; or
- parents of a minor child who is supported by public assistance or child support but are within two years of termination from such support.
WBL Course and WBL Service ID
These fields are used only for district-tracking purposes and are not used for state reporting.

Use the Start and End Date fields to determine the date range for which the status applied to the student.
Student Status
The Student Status, called Career Tech Ed Indicator in Texas state documentation, indicates whether the student is enrolled in a state-approved Career and Technical Education course as an elective or as a participant in the district’s career and technical coherent sequence of courses.
