Health vaccines and their associated compliance listings are based on state guidelines. The following information describes vaccine compliance rules as defined by the Montana Department of Health.
General Compliance
- Half-doses or reduced doses of a vaccine are not considered valid.
- 4 day tolerance periods should be given for all spacing requirements.
DTaP
Note: DTaP rules track the initial series of the vaccine, while Tdap tracks the booster doses. Students must be compliant for both DTaP and Tdap.

- The student receives three doses of the DT, DTaP/DTP, Td, or Tdap vaccine.
- The difference between the first dose and the student's birthdate is greater than or equal to 12 months with a 4-day tolerance.
- The student receives one dose of the Td or Tdap vaccine.
- The difference between the first dose and the student's birthdate is greater than or equal to 84 months with a 4-day tolerance.
