Tool Search: NASIS
The NASIS tool is used to collect BIE student tribal information. The data fields are available in Ad hoc Reporting and sync to the State.
NASIS Editor
Read - View existing NASIS records.
Write- Edit existing NASIS records.
Add- Add new NASIS records.
Delete - Remove NASIS records.

Add a NASIS Record
- Click the New icon. A BIE CEIS Detail editor displays.
- Search for and select the Tribe.
- Search for and select the student's Native Language.
- Select the Certificate Type (method used to verify a student's tribal membership).
- Enter the Date of Certification.
- Mark the ISEP documentation on file checkbox if applicable.
- Complete the ISEP Eligibility Certified By field with the name of the person who confirmed the student for ISEP eligibility.
- Select the code for the Navajo Chapter of which the student is a member.
- Enter the Home Agency.
- Enter the Residential Agency.
- Click Save.
- Click the Print Summary Report icon to generate a PDF view of the NASIS record.

| Tribe | The code of the (Native American) Tribe to which the student belongs. When a value is selected, the student's Federal Race Ethnicity reports as 2: American Indian or Alaskan Native | ||||||||||||||||||

| Certificate Type | A code indicating the method used to verify a student's tribal membership.

| ISEP documentation on file? | Indicates an ISEP Certificate or copy exists on file at the school. | ||||||||||||||||||
| Navajo Chapter | The code indicating the Navajo Chapter of which the student is a member. | ||||||||||||||||||
| Home Agency | The Home Agency that was the tribal agency at the time of the student's birth. | ||||||||||||||||||

Ad hoc Reporting
Create a report that pulls NASIS (tab) fields in the Filter Designer using the Student Data Type.
Custom attributes on 'custom' NASIS Programs tabs are not available as fields in Ad hoc.
