Academic Programs

Academic Planning – Course Plan Report and Progress Report display active school year in header (SIS-135579) [Enhancement] 

Previously, both the Course Plan Report and Progress Report (when printed from Campus Student/Parent Portals) displayed the school year of the student’s future-most enrollment in the report header. This has been corrected to display the current (active) school year, matching what displays if the reports are printed from the Campus Application.

Students who do not have an active enrollment in the current school year will see the school year of their next (future) enrollment display.

Academic Planning –Using the Batch Assignment Tool with a Pass Through SQL Query (SIS-134997)

The Batch Assignment Tool does not support a Pass-through SQL Query containing an “Order By” statement where the field values included in the ‘Order By’ are not field values found in the ‘Select’ clause (i.e personID/CourseID).

Order By statements are manually entered into Box B of the Pass-through SQL Query tool. When writing a statement, only include fields found in Box A’s ‘Select Clause’ or an error will occur.

Academic Planning – Security error produced when attempting to view Progress and Course Plan tabs (SIS-137652)

Multiple areas related to viewing student academic program, progress and course plan information were impacted by a security error if a user did not have RW access to Student Information > Academic Planning > Programs. The following areas were affected and have been fixed.

  • Student Information > Academic Planning, users were receiving an error when attempting to view the Progress and Course Plan tabs.
  • Campus Student and Campus Parent applications, users were unable to open the Course Plan and a security error would display.
  • Student Course Recommendations, teachers were unable to save course recommendations entered through the Student Course Recommendations tool in Campus Instruction.
  • Fixes have also been made to any report where Progress and Course Plan data can be pulled including Program Admin reports, Ad hoc Reporting using Course Plan subreport, Messenger messages using Course Plan subreport and Early Warning curriculum details.

Activity Registration

New Activity Registration Module (SIS-136967) [Enhancement] 

A new module called Activity Registration is now available for districts that also use the School Store. The Activity Registration module provides districts with a tool for managing activities that require a registration process including a registration packet, payment, and a roster.

Registration and payments are completed in the School Store. Activities display in the School Store based on registration dates that the district controls. An Activity Roster in Campus displays all registered students and allows the district to identify which students have paid and completed their required forms.

To use the Activity Registration module, districts must first set up supplemental Activity Registration documents in the Custom Forms tool and create an Ad Hoc filter for selecting eligible students. For more information, see the Activity Registration documentation.

Ad hoc Reporting

Filter Designer - Grouping and Aggregation Display (SIS-135519)

Filters that use Grouping options were not displaying the results without the user choosing the Simple HTML view. This has been corrected.

Attendance

Attendance Letters – Students not triggering to receive attendance letters (SIS-135610)

A fix has been made to attendance letters to include all students whose attendance marks qualify them to receive a letter trigger when ‘Preview’ is selected. Students are included when they have an active enrollment (Primary or Partial) in the current (active) school year.

Attendance – Consecutive Absence Report errors out when multiple calendars are selected (SIS-136666)

The Consecutive Absence Report has been fixed allowing the report to generate without error when multiple calendars are selected. This includes the Submit to Batch option when generating the report.

Blended Learning

Blended Learning Schedules (SIS-138055) [Enhancement] 

New scheduling tools for Blending Learning classroom and instruction is now available. Schools can create learning groups, allowing each student to be designated as a virtual learner, a physical (on-site) learner, or a learner who alternates between virtual instruction and physical instruction.

This is the first in a series of enhancements related to Blended Learning as you prepare your building for students to return to school in the fall. Look for additional enhancements in the next release.

Student Attendance - Blended Learning Group Display (SIS-138686) [Enhancement] 

As part of the new Blended Learning tools, the Student Attendance tool now includes indication of the Blended Learning Group to which the student belongs. Users who are assigned proper tool rights also have the ability to update the group assignment.

Calendar Days - Blended Learning Group Display (SIS-138506) [Enhancement] 

As part of the new Blended Learning tools, the Calendar Days tool now includes indication of the Blended Learning Group assigned to the selected day. Days can be assigned to a Blended Learning Group en masse through the Scheduling > Blended Learning tools, or manually added/modified on the Days tool.

Blended Learning Group Assignment is not impacted by the Day Reset function, but is removed by the Day Rotation function if the Day Rotation is used AFTER the Groups have been assigned.

Data Extract Utility

Data Extract Utility Bug Fixes (SIS-138687)

The Pathname field has been increased to a size of varchar 100. A district who had previously altered this field length and were impacted by the size increase has been fixed. Also, very long SQL queries were causing issues when trying to test the extract or connection. This issue was corrected.

Data Integrity Tools

Data Validation Tools Updates (SIS-135583) [Enhancement] 

The User Interface for the Data Validation tools has been updated to be more user friendly. The tools have also been updated to allow more control over DIS, and Stored Procedures are now supported.

Full Access to the new Data Validation tools has been made available to State Editions and Restricted Access has been made available to state-linked District Editions. Full Access will be made available to District Editions that have licensed the Data Analytics Suite in the future. Restricted Access will also be made available to all other non-state-linked District Editions in the future.

eTranscript

eTranscript - Graduation State Seal (SIS-138408)

An error message was returned when submitting an eTranscript related to the Honors Title being more than 30 characters. This has been corrected. The Honors Title field on the eTranscript file only sends the first 30 characters of the field. This is the field that reports Graduation State Seals assigned to students.

Fees

New Options for Hiding Fees from Campus Parent & Campus Student (SIS-133966) [Enhancement] 

Districts can now control which fees are visible in Campus Parent and Campus Student. When creating a fee, there are two new checkboxes on the Fee Editor: Display on Parent Portal and Display on Student Portal. These checkboxes are automatically marked when creating a new fee. As part of this change, existing fees will also have both checkboxes marked. To hide a fee from Campus Parent or Campus Student, clear the appropriate checkbox(es).

Update to Pay Fee Wizard Assignments with Surplus Balances (SIS-136883) [Enhancement] 

When the Fee Wizard is used to assign new fees or change exempt fees to unexempt, these fees are now automatically paid from the Surplus Balance when the Auto-pay Fees with Surplus Balance preference is turned on.

Eligibility Import Wizard Update (SIS-92118)

Medicaid, SCHIP and custom permission settings within the same school year were being overwritten by a Direct Certification import for the same school year. This issue was corrected.

Update for Extending Direct Certification (SIS-115312)

The Eligibility Import Wizard was not extending Direct Certification to other students in a household when the ranking logic required a change. This issue was corrected. Update for Extending Direct Certification (SIS-117568)

In some cases, the Eligibility Import Wizard was incorrectly overriding Free eligibilities with Reduced eligibilities when extending a direct certification to household members. Eligibility Import Wizard Update (SIS-125117)

The Eligibility Import Wizard was unnecessarily creating a new eligibility record for students who received a Medicaid Reduced eligibility through household extension when they already had the same eligibility and end date in place. This issue was corrected.

FRAM Preferences Update for Meal Benefits Checkbox (SIS-127644)

A notification was revised in the Application Preferences tool for the Meal Benefits checkbox. The checkbox is disabled and displays the updated message when the user needs to set up online application letters. The first time users enable Online Meal Benefit Applications for an upcoming school year, the Meal Benefits checkbox is not enabled until 7/1. Per USDA guidelines, schools are not permitted to accept Meal Benefit applications until July 1 of the upcoming school year.

Rounding Assignment Scores (SIS-136277)

Previously, assignment scores were not rounded when using a scoring rubrics. This has been corrected.

Add Course Master (SIS-137641)

The Course Master Info tool is now available in the three-tier navigation. The ability to create new course masters has been moved from Course Master Info to its own tool, called Add Course Master. 

This new tool exists in the current navigation as well as the three-tier navigation.

Updating Imported Frameworks - Standard Associations (SIS-138023) [Enhancement] 

When a framework is re-updated to capture changes made by the state, any changes to associations between items are also updated, as of this release.

When re-importing a CASE framework to capture updates from the state, users have the option of selecting which items to update. Previously, if child items were selected to be updated but not their parents, the parent items were still being updated. This has been corrected.

Health

Credentials Health License Field Added Update (SIS-134180)

A new field, Health License, has been added to the Credentials tool. The display name and fields in this dropdown are editable by users and by default is hidden. In all places where the Recorded by name displays and there is a value selectedin the Credential Health License field on or after the start date, that value displays next to the person's name. This also displays on Health Reports and in Ad hoc when queried.

Human Resources

Time Off History Update (SIS-132512)

Occasionally, a Payroll Synchronization Error would display when users tried to view their Time Off History in the My Leave Information tool. This issue was corrected.

Learner Planning

Team Members Role Field Update (SIS-132654) [Enhancement] 

Several updates have been made regarding the Team Members Role fields:

  • The Role dropdown has been removed from the Team Member Enter New Team Member tool for all modules.
  • The Role dropdown on the Find and Link New Team Member tool has been renamed to Caseload Role for the PLP and Special Ed modules (ILPA for Kentucky users).
  • Roles that are no longer used have been removed as options for the Role dropdown, including View Only, Read Only, Write, and Advisor. These roles do not have any additional functionality.

Special Ed Service Log Update (SIS-137553)

Previously, the Special Ed Service Log was only pulling the Special Ed Setting from those states that captured this data on the IEP. However, several states, including Wisconsin, Montana, and Maine, have localized tools that capture this data instead of within the IEP itself. With this update, the Service Log now pulls Special Ed Setting information from these tools instead of the IEP when applicable.

A new tool right under the Service Log has been added called Override Dates. This right is either turned on or off and users must have at least Add rights to the Service Log in conjunction with this right. This right allows users to enter records on the Service Log that fall outside of the selected Plan dates.

Try New Look of Campus Toggle District Preference Added (SIS-138439) [Enhancement] 

A system preference has been added, allowing district to control whether the Try New Look of Infinite Campus toggle appears for all users, only Campus Instruction users, or no users. The Try New Look toggle is now available within the User Menu (the person icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen) and will appear here depending on the preference value set.

By default, this preference is set to ‘All Users’ for Campus Cloud and Cloud Choice customers.

Note for In-District and Self-Hosted Customers: This preference is not visible as the Try New Look UI is currently not available for these hosting models.

Disabling Payment Methods (SIS-110543)

When a payment method type; e.g., Discover, is disabled, Campus now warns users in the portal that their payment method is no longer valid and should be deleted. Campus also prevents them from attempting to complete transactions with the invalid payment method. If a user has set up a recurring payment with a payment method that is made invalid, Campus now deletes the recurring payment and sends the user an email notifying them of the deletion.

To report, calendars must have BIE Type I: Instructional and enrollment records must have Enrollment Type = 1: ISEP.

The following modifications have been made to the reports listed below:

School Discipline and Attendance Reports - Discipline by Action, Discipline by Student Demographic and Firearm Discipline Files:

  • The extract editors for all three available reports include a Start Date, End Date and Type fields. A Summary Report Type and a Detail Report Type are now available.
  • On the Detail Report Types, the following applies:
    • The reports no longer report consolidated counts. They now report at a student level per line.
    • The SASID/LASID field has been renamed to LASID and now reports the student number for the student associated with the discipline event being reported.
  • The reports only consider discipline events that occurred during the reporting period (between the entered start and end dates).
  • Each field included in the report only reports for the student associated with the record.
  • For the Discipline by Student Demographic File, the Other Action field reports a count of Behavior Resolutions with a code of 07: Other Action Taken or 09: Removal Other, Death, Incarcerated, etc. Only resolutions mapped to these codes are included.

Student School Association

  • The Effective Date field remains and also includes an Attendance Start Date and Attendance End Date fields. The Count Date has been removed.
  • The following fields use the Start Date and End Date values entered on the Extract Editor to determine values:
    • Total Days Attended
    • Total Days Excused
    • Total Days Unexcused
    • Total Possible Attendance Days

Maine IEP and Amend Updates (SIS-132817)

With the Campus.2001 update, the Amend feature was removed for Maine and replaced with a new process (see the IEP Amend Process article for additional information). New York - New SIRS Day Calendar Type Codes (SIS-138585)

New SIRS Day Calendar Event Type Code mappings were added for reporting school closures that have resulted from the COVID-19 Pandemic.

  • PHI = Public Health Instruction Day
  • PHNI = Public Health Non Instruction Day

When adding the Day Event Type Code to the calendar, you must use these exact codes: PHI or PHNI. Assign a Sequence code of 1 to prioritize and override other Day Event Codes. If you have two event codes for the same day, a 1 will override a 0 for reporting purposes.

The SIRS Day Calendar was updated to report the following in the Day Type column:

  • If the Day code is PHI, then ""Instructional day"" reports.
  • If the Day code is PHNI, then "Non Instructional day" reports.

Texas – Fall Class Roster Extract Available (SIS-135613)

Texas - Submission 3 PEIMS updates (SIS-137739)

Logic has been updated to the TX-SchoolDayOperationalMinutes field found in the Education Organization Calendar Interchange extract. This field will only report for calendars where the Instructional Program Type is 01, 02 or 14.

Logic has been updated to the TX-DyslexiaRiskCode field found in the Student Interchange extract. If a student’s grade level is KG or 01 and the student has an active Dyslexia record with a Dyslexia Risk Code value, the value will report. Dyslexia Risk Codes without a value will report as 00 and all others will not report.

An error was produced when attempting to generate the Master Schedule Interchange when a staff ad hoc filter was selected for ECDS PK, ECDS KG and Class Roster reports. This has been corrected.

The following areas have been updated for Texas districts only.

  • New Role ID’s were added to District Assignments

Virginia - Student Record Collection (SRC) Update (SIS-138364)

The following fields were updated to only report a value when the student's enrollment's End Status = W730 or W731.

  • Locally Awarded Verified Credits (122)
  • Special Permission Locally Awarded Verified Credits (123)
  • Credit Accommodation Codes (124)

If the student's enrollment end status does not equal W730 or W731, the fields report blank even if there is data to report. The reporting logic considers the active enrollment as of reporting Snapshot Date or the student's most recent enrollment for the End Status = W730 or W731.
