Content Update for .2623

The Content Update page is designed to keep you informed about content published in the Knowledge Base for each Campus release. Please share this with others who may find it valuable.

Knowledge Base Update

Many of you have seen the recent updates to the Knowledge Base (KB). Here is a brief overview of the changes, their significance, and examples for reference.

What changed

We have created KB landing pages that organize content based on user intent, following the Diátaxis framework. The categories include:

  • Getting Started
  • Tutorials
  • How-to Guides
  • Explanation
  • Reference

What this means in practice

Instead of searching through one long article, users can now start on a landing page that guides them to the right help faster. Landing pages are labeled “Start Here”.

This change:

  • Decreases the time spent searching for answers
  • Moves toward improved search accuracy
  • Creates more consistent, reusable content

Why it matters

  • Helps internal and external users find faster, more accurate answers
  • Reduces repeat questions
  • Gives customers clear, task-based guidance that speeds up onboarding/adoption
  • Improves product clarity and usability
  • Builds confidence in conversations and materials

See the new experience

Here are a few examples of the new landing page experience:

Looking ahead

We’ll keep expanding this model, improving it with feedback, and aligning updates with product releases. We’re also preparing for more advanced search and AI-assisted experiences.

Keep the feedback coming

If you find gaps, unclear workflows, or ways to improve clarity, please share your feedback. Your input helps us improve the experience for Infinite Campus teams and customers.

This update is more than a new structure. It helps us create simpler, more useful content that better supports how teams and customers work. We are hoping to have this work completed in September.

Tool Rights Catalog Updates

We've added some new Tool Rights articles to the Tool Rights Catalog in the last couple of months.

Special Ed Evaluation Tool Right Added

Product Path: Student Information > Special Ed > Special Ed Documents, User Management > User Account > Individual Tool Rights > Special Ed Documents > Evaluation > Publish Draft to Portal

Users can now publish draft Evaluation documents to the Portal. This includes a new tool right, Publish Draft to Portal, under Evaluation. On the Special Ed Documents tool, the "Publish Draft" and "Remove Draft" buttons now display for Evaluation documents.

Role Assignments for Teachers

Product Path: Scheduling & Courses > Scheduling > Staff Planner

In the last release, the ability to add role assignments for primary teacher was added to the Section side panel in the Scheduling Board and also displayed the role in Staff Planner and Section Staff History.

Now, roles can be assigned to other teachers the same way in the Scheduling Board.

Scheduling Board Load Options

Product Path: Scheduling & Courses > Scheduling > Scheduling Board

An Unload Filters option has been added to the list of actions a user can do when loading courses in the Scheduling Board. This side panel allows the unloading of courses by grade level and Ad hoc filters. Any course or section locks already in place (like the Lock Section checkbox) will not be removed when using this tool.

Quizzes

Product Path: Instruction > Anywhere you can create or modify assignments (such as Grade Book, Planner, Curriculum, Progress Monitor, etc.)

New options have been added to the page-level question settings for quizzes to allow for randomized question selection. Additionally, quiz content has been updated to reflect updates on using Question Banks to create quizzes and a quiz setting that allows teachers to control whether students can submit incomplete quizzes.

Linking Directly to Attachments

Product Path: Instruction > Curriculum > Curriculum > open an assignment > Link Directly to Content

When teachers attach content to a piece of curriculum, they now have the option to Link Directly to Content. When this option is selected and a student clicks the assignment in Campus Student, the attached content opens, bypassing the assignment details such as dates and grading.

More to come in .2627!
