Tool Search: Special Education Summary

The Special Education Summary tool allows users to view student Special Ed data without having tool rights access to their Plans/Evaluations. Users can enter some data for State Reporting purposes.

This tool consists of several sections: Summary Overview, State Reporting and Data Entry, and SPED Flags.

Summary Overview

The Summary Overview section provides a read-only view of Special Education data from the student's evaluation(s) and/or plan(s). Users can select which plan or evaluation to view a summary using the Plan to View or Evaluation to View dropdowns. Click the Select button to confirm the selection.

This section is read-only. The information displayed in the Plan and Evaluation Information section is pulled from the student's Plan and Evaluation.

Meeting Type

The type of meeting. Options include:

  • Initial Eligibility, IEP, Placement
  • Annual Review of IEP
  • Three Year Reevaluation
  • Dismissal from Services
  • Parent Request
  • Other

This field does not pull in for historical plan types.

Effective Date The day the student was dismissed from services.

Date of Meeting The day the team met. Special Ed Documents > IEP > Plan Information > Date of Meeting
Date Services Begin The day services began. Special Ed Documents > IEP > Plan Information > Date Services Begin
Annual Review Date The annual review date. This serves as the end date for services, where applicable. Special Ed Documents > IEP > Plan Information > Annual Review Date
3-Year Eval Date The day of the three-year evaluation date. Special Ed Documents > IEP > Plan Information > 3-Year Eval Date
Primary Disability The student's disability. Special Ed Documents > IEP > Enrollment Information > 
Placement Ages 3-5 The setting of the student's special education services.

This field does not pull in for historical plan types.

Alternate Assessment Indicates the student needs to take an alternate state or district-wide assessment. Special Ed Documents > IEP > State/District-Wide Assessment Accommodations > Student will be taking state and district-wide alternate assessments
Transfer of Rights The day the student was informed of their transfer of rights.

The State Reporting and Data Entry section allows users to enter reported Special Ed data that is not stored in a student's document.
