Health vaccines and their associated compliance listings are based on state guidelines. While Infinite Campus maintains standard guidelines for all states, districts have the ability to enter additional compliances. The following information describes vaccine compliance rules as defined by the Iowa State Department of Health.

General Compliance

  • Vaccine doses administered less than or equal to 4 days before the minimum interval or age are counted as valid.
  • Doses administered 5 days earlier than the minimum interval or age are not counted as valid doses and must be repeated as age-appropriate.

The following vaccines are marked as a Live Vaccine:

  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • MMRV
  • MMRV
  • Varicella

Hepatitis B

Three doses are required for students in grades K-12 and for students 4 years and older. There is no requirement for students not yet enrolled in a grade of K or higher.

Students are considered compliant when:

  • The student is in state grade: KG, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12.
  • The student receives three doses of the Hepatitis B vaccine.
  • The difference between the second and first valid dose is greater than 28 days with a 4-day tolerance.
  • The difference between the last dose and the second valid dose is greater than 56 days with a 4-day tolerance.
  • The difference between the last dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 168 days with a 4-day tolerance.
  • The difference between the last dose and the first valid dose is greater than 112 days with a 4-day tolerance.

Rule Requirements

Compliant

Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is at least 84 months old.
  • The student receives three doses of the DT, DTaP, Td, or Tdap vaccine.
  • The student receives one dose of the Tdap vaccine.
  • The difference between the first dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 12 months with a 4-day tolerance.
  • The difference between the last dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 48 months with a 4-day tolerance.
4 Doses
Compliant
Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is in state grade: KG, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12.
  • The student receives four doses of the DT, DTaP, Td, or Tdap vaccine.
  • The difference between the last dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 48 months with a 4-day tolerance.
5 Doses
Compliant
Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is in state grade: KG, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12.
  • The student receives five doses of the DT, DTaP, Td, or Tdap vaccine.

Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is at least 4 months old but no older than 5 months old.
  • The student receives one dose of the DT, DTaP, Td, or Tdap vaccine.
6-11 months

Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is at least 6 months old but no older than 11 months old.
  • The student receives two doses of the DT, DTaP, Td, or Tdap vaccine.
12-18 months
Compliant
Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is at least 12 months old but no older than 18 months old.
  • The student receives three doses of the DT, DTaP, Td, or Tdap vaccine.
19 months and older

Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is at least 19 months old.
  • The student receives four doses of the DT, DTaP, Td, or Tdap vaccine.

Hib

Rule Requirements
60 months and older
No Requirement
Students 60 months old and older are not required to receive any doses of the Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib) vaccine.
0-3 months
No Requirements
Students 3 months old and younger are not required to receive any doses of the Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib) vaccine.
4-5 months
Compliant
Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is at least 4 months old but no older than 5 months old.
  • The student receives one dose of the Hib vaccine.
6-18 months
Compliant
Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is at least 6 months old but no older than 18 months old.
  • The student receives two doses of the Hib vaccine.
19-59 months - 3 doses
Compliant
Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is at least 19 months old but no older than 59 months old.
  • The student receives three doses of the Hib vaccine.
  • The difference between the last dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 12 months with a 4-day tolerance.
19-59 months - 2 doses

Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is at least 19 months old but no older than 59 months old.
  • The student receives two doses of the Hib vaccine.
  • The difference between the first dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 12 months with a 4-day tolerance.

  • The student is at least 12 months old but no older than 59 months old.

MMR

  • The difference between the second-to-last dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 12 months with a 4-day tolerance.
  • The difference between the last and previous dose is greater than 28 days with a 0-day tolerance.
2 M 2 R
Compliant
Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is in state grade: KG, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12,
  • The student receives two doses of the Measles vaccine, and
    • The difference between the second-to-last dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 12 months with a 4-day tolerance.
    • The difference between the last and previous dose is greater than 28 days with a 0-day tolerance.
  • The student receives two doses of the Rubella vaccine, and
    • The difference between the second-to-last dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 12 months with a 4-day tolerance.
    • The difference between the last and previous dose is greater than 28 days with a 0-day tolerance.
1 MMR 1 M 1 R Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is in state grade: KG, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12.
  • The student receives two doses of the Measles, MMR, or MMRV vaccine.
    • The difference between the second-to-last dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 12 months with a 4-day tolerance.
    • The difference between the last and previous dose is greater than 28 days with a 0-day tolerance.
  • The student receives two doses of the Rubella, MMR, or MMRV vaccine, and
    • The difference between the second-to-last dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 12 months with a 4-day tolerance.
    • The difference between the last and previous dose is greater than 28 days with a 0-day tolerance.
K-12 Default
Non-compliant
Students in state grade: KG, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, who have not received any doses of the MMR or MMRV vaccine are considered non-compliant.

Students 18 months old and younger are not required to receive any doses of the MMR or MMRV vaccine.

    • The difference between the second-to-last dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 12 months with a 4-day tolerance.

Varicella

0-18 months
No Requirement
Students 18 months old and younger are not required to receive any doses of the Varicella or MMRV vaccine.

Students are considered compliant when:
  • The student is in state grade: KG, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12,
  • The student receives two doses of the Varicella or MMRV vaccine, 
  • The difference between the second-to-last dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 12 months with a 4-day tolerance.
  • The difference between the last dose and the previous dose is greater than 28 days with a 0-day tolerance.
K-12 Default
Non-Compliant
Students in state grades KG-12 are considered non-compliant when they have not received any Varicella doses.

  • The student receives one dose of the Pneumococcal PCV or PPV vaccine, and

  • The difference between the fourth dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 48 months, with a 4-day tolerance.

Meningococcal

  • The student is in state grade: 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12.
  • The student receives one dose of the Meningococcal (MCV4 or MenACWY) vaccine.
  • The difference between the last dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 120 months with a 4-day tolerance.
2 doses
Compliant

Students are considered compliant when:

  • The student is in state grade 12.
  • The student receives two doses of the Meningococcal (MCV4 or MenACWY) vaccine.
  • The difference between the second dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 192 months with a 4-day tolerance.
  • The difference between the second and previous dose is greater than 56 days with a 4-day tolerance.
1 dose after 16
Compliant

Students are considered compliant when:

  • The student is at least 192 months old.
  • The student is in state grade 12.
  • The student receives one dose of the Meningococcal (MCV4 or MenACWY) vaccine, and
  • The difference between the dose and the student's birthdate is greater than 192 months with a 4-day tolerance.
