The Record L: Five Low Attendance Days reports attendance on or up to five days a district has manually designated as low-attendance days. The state uses these totals to offset funding effects of unusually low attendance days that may be out of a district’s control.
The Record L: Ten Low Attendance Days reports using the same calculations but for ten days instead of five.

Report Logic
Five low-attendance days are determined to offset the funding effects of unusually low attendance days that may be out of a district’s control.
The RL projects future present-day attendance. When the SAAR report is run halfway through the year and the student is enrolled all year, SAAR present days reflect the entire year, and future days are counted as present days.
The SAAR reports only days on which all schools are in session as low-attendance days. These days are automatically selected.
- RL calculates the lowest aggregate Present Days value for 5 individual dates district-wide.
- There is no validation preventing RW dates from also showing on RL. Users must run the RL and then remove any RW dates they have designated as the same as RL dates. IS THIS STILL TRUE?
- The District Daily Attendance record of SAAR also displays Low Attendance days, designating them with a superscript “L.”
- Days on which the SAAR determines that attendance is so low that statistically it is not likely to be real are also thrown out of the RL calculation. Days that are excluded in this manner can be viewed on the District Daily Attendance Record. See the District Daily Attendance report for further details.
Calendars and/or schedule structures are excluded when they only include grade levels 95, 96, 97, 98, and 99.
Days from the RL are not fed into the R7 adjustment.
