Tool Search: Homeless
The Homeless tool records basic homeless information as well as district-defined fields.
Read - Access and view the Homeless record.
Write - Modify existing Homeless records.
Add - Add new Homeless records.
Delete - Permanently remove Homeless records.
Write - Modify existing Homeless records.
Add - Add new Homeless records.
Delete - Permanently remove Homeless records.
Create a Homeless Record
- Select the New icon. The Homeless Detail editor displays.
- Enter the Start Date for this student becoming homeless.
- Select the appropriate Program Status option.
- Select the appropriate option for Primary Nighttime Residence option.
- Select the appropriate option Unaccompanied Youth - either Yes or No.
- Mark the Homeless Served checkbox when the student is being served by a Homeless program such a McKinney-Vento.
Homeless Fields
Start Date
Indicates the date the student was identified as being Homeless.
End Date
Indicates the date the student was considered to no longer be Homeless.
Program Status
Indicates whether the student is homeless.
Primary Night Time Residence
Primary Nighttime Residence indicates the student's living situation at the time the student was identified as Homeless.
- D: Doubled Up/Shared Housing
- E: Emergency/Transitional Shelter
- H: Hotels/Motels
- U: Unsheltered
Unaccompanied Youth
Indicates the student is experiencing homelessness and is not in the physical custody of a parent or guardian.
- N: No
- Y: Yes
Homeless Served
Indicates whether the student is served as homeless under the Mckinney-Vento Act.
Comments
Lists any other comments about the student's homelessness.
