Campus Student & Parent - Accessibility (SIS-184048)

Various additional updates have been made to improve the accessibility of Campus Student and Campus Parent.

Grades - Popup Accessibility (SIS-184110)

When a user in the Grades tool in Student Information or in All Terms view in Campus Student and Campus Parent clicks a grade, a popup displays that provides more information about the grade and the icons shown. This popup has been updated to improve accessibility.

Accessibility Update for Campus Student/Parent Tools (SIS-184221) [Enhancement] 

The following Campus Student and Campus Parent tools have been updated to improve accessibility: Demographics, Address Information, Family Information, Behavior, Health, and Assessments.

Activity Registration

Product Image Description for Accessibility (SIS-172116) [Enhancement] 

In order to improve screen reader accessibility, a description field was added for images that are uploaded for use within the School and Public Stores.

Prevent Non-Portal User Accounts from Purchasing Activities (SIS-181562)

Previously, non-portal user accounts (Campus Instruction, etc.) would receive a connection error when logging in to the Campus Parent Portal and attempting to register for activities via the School Store. Now, they will receive an alert that guides them to log in using a Parent Portal account instead.

Activity Registration Maintenance (SIS-184022)

The following updates have been made to the Activity Registration tool:

  • An error occurred where preapproval forms could be edited when the form was read-only. Users can no longer alter any fields when the form is read-only.
  • The Incomplete Registration(s) count on step 1 of the Activity Form Cleanup was not correctly filtering out students who had no form assigned but had started their registration. This has been corrected.

Behavior

Behavior Harassment Type List Update (SIS-181856) [Enhancement] 

The list of Harassment Types was updated on the Behavior Management tool to include "Gender Identity" as an option. This update only applies to those states using the core Harassment Type dictionary list.

Calendar

Character Limit on Section Staff History Causing Calendar Roll Forward Error (SIS-183989)

A previous change to the character limit for a field on the Section Staff History tool was found to be causing an error when calendars were rolled forward. This has been corrected.

Custom Calendar Fields Not Displaying on Calendar Tool (SIS-184064)

Custom fields created by a district with a Screen Location of Calendar were not displaying on the Calendar Information tool. This has been corrected.

Campus Analytics Suite

Insights Dashboard Update (SIS-183863)

An issue preventing the Insights Dashboard Configuration from properly displaying graph keys has been corrected.

Survey Designer Update (SIS-184577)

The misspelling of “repository” in the Survey Designer Image Question Types has been corrected.

Campus Learning

Discussion Updates (SIS-168838) [Enhancement] 

The following updates have been made to Discussions:

  • Added an option for students to attach files to a discussion post. Teachers can enable this option in the Discussion settings.
  • Changed color coding logic to outline a post instead of coloring the background. For example, when scoring discussions, the selected post is outlined in blue.
  • Logic for deleting posts has been updated. Added an option to delete all posts in a thread and to delete all of a user's own posts. If all posts in a thread are deleted, the thread no longer displays in the discussion.
  • Added a 'New' label for new posts and replies.
  • Posts are now labeled based on the role of the poster: Admin, Teacher, or Student.
  • Teacher posts are now displayed in the Campus Parent view even if the parent's student hasn't replied.
  • Removed the Print button - users can still print Discussions using their browser's print function.

File Upload - Long File Names (SIS-182210)

Previously, the Curriculum Upload would sometimes fail if the curriculum included files with long names. Logic has been updated to prevent the import from failing.

Note: The Curriculum Import is in a limited testing period and is not available to all users.

WYSIWYG Editor Character Limits (SIS-183732) [Enhancement] 

Character limits have been added to the WYSIWYG editors in assignments. These limits are very large and unlikely to be reached through normal use. For screens with a single WYSIWYG editor, the limit is over 500,000 characters; for screens with multiple editors, the limit is over 60,000 characters. Limits refer to the code view of the editor, which includes additional characters for elements such as formatting and images. These limits also apply to assignment editors that students interact with via Campus Student, such as Text Editor answer fields.

Census – Add Person (SIS-182821)

An issue where the Save button was not disabled after selection, allowing duplicate records to be created, has been resolved.

Cross-Site Enrollment

Visit Is Cross-Site Enrollment Available in My State? article to see if Cross-Site Enrollment is available for your state. 

Cross-Site Enrollment - Designate Which Districts Can Participate with Other Districts (SIS-179487) [Enhancement] 

Administrators can now select which districts their district can accept Cross-Site offerings from when Cross-Site Enrollment tooling is turned on.

For interdistrict Cross-Site Enrollment districts, the School Connections tool now includes a toggle for Interdistrict and Intradistrict. When set to Interdistrict, districts can choose (marked to Accept Offerings) to interact with other districts. If the district is not set to Accept Offerings, courses from that district will not display for mapping in the Home district's Cross-Site Enrollment Setup tool.

When Accept Offerings is turned off after courses have been mapped, existing mappings and rosters will remain unless manually removed.

Cross-Site Enrollment - Attendance Workflow Updates (SIS-183905) [Enhancement] 

Previously, attendance recorded for Cross-Site Enrollment students allowed for processing at both the Home School and the Serving School. This has been updated to have the *Serving School is the school of record.* This applies to both Interdistrict and Intradistrict participation.

  • Any initial status coming from the Home School can be accounted for in the Serving School unless the Serving School has already supplied a status.
  • Attendance status changes cannot be changed at the Home School.
  • Additional changes from the Home School where the Serving School has already reconciled the status or added their own status is not accounted for at the Serving School.

Cross-Site Enrollment Attendance Update for Home Schools (SIS-184174) [Enhancement] 

When the Serving school has provided an Attendance Status or reconciled the attendance record, regardless of whether the Home school has sent any initial attendance, the Home School is no longer able to update that attendance record. This update coincides with other Cross-Site Enrollment Attendance updates (SIS-183905) and enforces the role of the Serving School always being the School of Record.

The following areas have been updated:

  • Student Attendance Tool - The Excuse field only includes excuses that have the same status as the locked attendance record. Radio buttons to change the status have been disabled.
  • Attendance Entry Wizard - An attempt to change a Status on the locked attendance record alerts the user that the record cannot be changed. Radio buttons to change the status on the locked attendance record are disabled.
  • Section Attendance - Radio buttons to change the status on the Attendance side panel are disabled.
  • Teaching Center - Radio buttons to change the status using Take Attendance or the Seating Chart are disabled.

Cross-Site Enrollment - Identities Effective Date Display (SIS-183906)

The Effective Date on the Identities record wasn't displayed for the Serving School Identities record, but was displayed when viewing the details of the Identity record. This has been corrected.

Cross-Site Enrollment - State Functionality Enabled (SIS-184396)

Cross-Site Enrollment is now enabled for Intradistrict Participation for the following states:

Data Utilities

Data Extract Utility SFTP Key Exchange Manager Updated to Clarify Order of Operations and Functionality (SIS-158165) [Enhancement] 

The following updates were made to the Data Extract Utility SFTP Key Exchange Manager to lessen confusion and improve usability:

  • The header has been updated to include the proper workflow for using this tool, including a link to detailed instructions available in the Campus Community Knowledge Base.
  • The SFTP Key Exchange Configuration section is now identified as required and buttons appear in workflow order.
  • The SFTP Server Public Key Upload (.pub file) section is now labeled as optional and includes language about how this functionality works.

Data Extract Utility SFTP Mode Sporadically Generating Errors (SIS-173923)

Users were sporadically encountering errors when using the SFTP delivery mode in the Data Extract Utility. To resolve this issue, retry logic for SFTP connection logic and file transfer logic was corrected.

Data Extract Utility Giving Error in SFTP Mode (SIS-175988)

The SFTP mode of the Data Extract Utility was generating an error stating, “The requested file or folder either does not exist on the server, or the user does not have the correct permissions to access it. Please ensure the file path and user credentials are correct” even when the path was correct and the file or folder do exist. This issue was corrected.

Data Extract Utility Stating Transfer Successful But Path is Incorrect and File Did Not Transfer (SIS-181039)

The Data Extract Utility was reporting a success message for files transferred even though the Path was incorrect and the file(s) did not transfer. This issue was corrected.

Data Extract Zip Tool PoolConnection Error (SIS-183837)

Users encountered a “PoolConnection has already been closed” error when attempting to zip multiple extracts via the Data Extract Zip Tool. This issue was corrected.

Data Extract Utility PULL Method Notification (SIS-184328)

The links for the Data Extract Utility Knowledge Base article that appear on the Data Extract Utility and Data Extract Zip Tool were not displaying correctly and the banner was not allowing users to scroll and select the extracts at the bottom of the list. This has been corrected.

Data Validation

Data Validations – Enforce Use of District Parameter for Validations on State Data Set (SIS-184169)

Data validations written by the state and pushed down to districts will now enforce a district parameter to ensure a district is only able to see data for users in their district or that they have access to view.

In the New look of Campus, the DataValidationRemoteRun tool right incorrectly appeared under ‘Other’ instead of Data Validation. This issue was corrected.

Parents/Guardians and/or students who receive a Custom Form on the Campus Parent or Student Portals that require an eSignature now have to accept or decline a Terms and Conditions for Electronic Use before signing or declining the Custom Form. The Terms and Conditions previously existed for states with eSignature functionality for the Special Ed Plans. Issue with One LDAP Server Host Causing LDAP Login Outage (SIS-183944)

When an LDAP server host was unavailable or caused an issue, users were prevented from logging into Campus even though other configured LDAP server hosts in the LDAP configuration were connecting correctly. To correct this issue, when an LDAP configuration has multiple Server Hosts configured and one of them fails, Campus will try a different server host until it makes a valid connection.

App Cache Reload Tool Now Available (SIS-182553) [Enhancement] 

System administrators and users with a Student Information System product security role can now access the App Cache Reload Tool. This tool is useful for reloading the cache app after events such as:

  • A change to your district Campus Service Provider Entity ID
  • Changes made to Portal Preference through the database.
  • Changes made to dictionary items through the database.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving one-off issues.

NOTE: Reloading the app cache may lead to high resource usage and temporary login outages. PLEASE USE THIS TOOL ONLY WHEN NECESSARY. If you need to use this tool often, contact Campus Support.

For example, the last name of 'Muñoz' was previously reported as 'Mu oz.' Now, it reports as 'Munoz'.

These updates support the future release of Cross-Site Enrollment functionality in Idaho. The 'Exclude Cross-Site Data' checkbox only displays when the district enables the cross-site tool.

North Carolina - NC Official Transcript Printing All CTE Programs (SIS-183135)

When the NC Official Transcript was generated in batch from Grading & Standards > Reports > Transcript Batch Report, a student's transcript included ALL CTE programs, and not just the CTE Programs where the student is marked as a Concentrator. This has been corrected.

When the NC Official Transcript is generated from the Transcript Batch or from the student's Transcript, only those CTE Programs where they are marked as Concentrator are included on the Transcript.

North Carolina - Transcript Information for a Course Taken at a Non-North Carolina Public School (SIS-183188)

A new Transfer Course checkbox has been added to the Additional Information card on the student's Transcripts record to identify courses taken at a non-North Carolina Public School. The School Name has also been modified to allow manual entry.

Both the School Name and the Transfer Course fields are available in Ad hoc Reporting within Student > Learner Portfolio > Transcript Detail > schoolName (transcriptDetail.schoolName), transcriptField6 (transcriptDetail.transcriptField6).

North Carolina - GRS Summary Updates (SIS-183378)

The GRS Summary Report, part of the PMR Extract, has been modified to include a State Grade Level column. This displays similar to the PMR Summary Report.

This column reports the State Grade Level Code for that row, one row per grade level in numeric order. The Group Total displays BEFORE all the grade levels to report the sum of values within the summary group for that school.

North Carolina - Graduation Data Verification Report Update to Diploma Date (SIS-183890)

The Graduation Data Verification Report has been updated to NOT require a student's Diploma Date to fall on or inside the dates of the enrollment.

Logic now reports the student's most recent primary enrollment in the selected calendar on the report editor. In that case, the Diploma Date on the Graduation Record reports as long as the Enrollment Start Date is before the Diploma Date.

In addition, the Diploma Date must be after the Start Date and before the End Date entered on the report editor.

This change applies to all GDV reports.

North Carolina - New State Attendance Code (SIS-183979)

A new state attendance codeis available for selection - *1T: Inaccessible Roads*. This new code is used to record an absence resulting from a lack of accessible roads due to a natural disaster. A natural disaster is the only allowable reason to use this code.

This code has a Status of Absent and an Excuse of Excused. It is treated the same as a 1A Attendance Code for PMR logic calculations.

Virginia Change/Delete Correction for SchoolInfo and StudentPersonal (SIS-184010)

An issue involving certain change events being sent as a Delete for the entire object has been corrected for both the SchoolInfo and StudentPersonal objects.

Wisconsin Special Ed Documents Updates (SIS-183593)

Several updates to Wisconsin's Special Ed Documents were implemented. Updates to the Individual Education Plan include:

  • A new print format, WI IEP 2024, is now available.
  • The verbiage on the District-Wide Assessments editor was updated. Several fields were also added to this editor.
  • The document footer on the printed document was updated to 10/2024.

Updates to the Eligibility Report include:

  • A new print format, WI Eligibility Report 2024, is now available.
  • The verbiage for the Autism checklist on the (ER-1) Eligibility Determination editor was updated.
  • Several minor print fixes were also done.

Wisconsin - Ed-Fi IRC (Cert)/WBL (Non-Cert) Learning Update (SIS-184490)

The ‘2: State Co-op Ed. Skill Standards - DPI Youth Leadership’ value has been added back to the IRC (Cert)/WBL (Non-Cert) Learning field for the 2023-24 school year.
