The Household Members editor in Census includes a Tuition checkbox to support the Tuition feature. This checkbox is used to account for students in households for eligibility in multi-student discounts for households. To calculate discounts accurately, the system needs to know whether a student in a household should count toward the family’s student total. For example, in a split household, one parent may claim the student for discount purposes while the other does not. The checkbox allows you to set this at the household level.
When Tuition is turned on, a script automatically applies the checkbox setting to all existing households. For any new households or household members, you’ll need to set it manually as appropriate.
