The Code Defining tool tracks the meaning of a field value so that Infinite Campus can utilize codes from various locations throughout the product to aid in logic used for reports and/or calculations.

Access and view the Code Defining tool. Select an object from the Code Defining List for a selected year and view the assigned values in the Code Defining Detail table.	Copy mapped values from one year to another. For State Edition users, publish the updated codes and values to District Edition using the Publish to Districts option.	Assign Definitions to codes and save. Cancel the selection in a populated field prior to saving.	N/A

Suggested User Groups

Typically, users of this tool have already been assigned one or more Product Security Roles that grant administrative-level access; therefore, a user group assignment is not necessary.

If your district's needs are different, you may choose to create a group that meets those needs.
