Activity Registration

Activity Registration Updates (SIS-141422) [Enhancement] 

The following changes were made for Activity Registration.

  • Activity Registration now supports interactive custom forms. Interactive forms allow users to enter data directly into the PDF and electronically sign when registering for an activity. A request for data and/or signature can be sent to the student and/or parent/guardian(s) on the Campus Parent and/or Campus Student portal. Campus Student and Campus Parent portal will notify the user if there are required forms that must be completed or before the activity is added to the School Store cart. If you use an interactive form, you can also use the following Ad hoc fields to prepopulate the form: "activityName" and "studentFirstLastName"
  • ." For more information about creating interactive forms, see the Custom Forms article on the Infinite Campus Knowledge Base.
  • The Activity Roster was updated to allow viewing the forms associated with each student. Districts can see eSignatures and enter a contact log. A Lock/Unlock button is also available on the form. A locked form indicates no additional changes can be made. While district staff cannot sign for students/parents, the eSignature can be overridden.
  • When you manually add a student to the roster, all forms must be reviewed and if applicable sent for eSignature. Forms can then be filled out in the Campus Student and/or Campus Parent Portal in the Documents tool. District staff can also fill out forms (except for the eSignature) in the Activity Roster if necessary.
  • The "School(s)" field on step 1 of the Activity Builder is now unlocked and can be modified until the Activity's status is Registration Closed.

Ad Hoc Error for Daily Health Log (SIS-141909)

An error was occurring when using custom attributes/fields in Ad Hoc for the Daily Health Log tool. This issue has been corrected.

Blended Learning

Blended Learning - Virtual Attendance Posting (SIS-141584)

When the Virtual Attendance posting job runs, attendance records are no longer written for a date that is before the student's Enrollment Start Date, even when the student is scheduled into a course section before that start date.

The Attendance Posting code always overwrites attendance records with different codes that are marked for virtual attendance as long as the record is on a date that is greater than or equal to the Attendance Posting Date and the virtual student does not have Participation Confirmation in the course section.

Blended Learning - Overlapping Enrollments Reporting Multiple results in Filter Designer (SIS-141782)

When a student has multiple non-overlapping enrollments to the same calendar, the virtualToday and virtualTomorrow results reported two lines. This has been corrected to report a single line per student per calendar, regardless of the number of enrollments in that calendar a student may have.

Blended Learning Updates (SIS-141785) [Enhancement] 

The following modifications have been made to Blended Learning tools:

  • To provide a cleaner interface for New Blended Learning Groups, a new side panel has been added where learning groups can be edited. This includes modifying the name of the group, updating the group color, adding an end date for the group, and marking the group as active or archived.
  • Blended Learning Group Assignments can now be assigned to calendar days in the past. The selected group must be active in order to be assigned. Group Day assignments can be added but not removed.
  • Users can now hide archived groups from the main view of New Blended Learning Groups, Adjust Blended Learning Groups and Manage Blended Learning Groups.
  • A group can only be backdated to the earliest attendance date. When the Group Start Date is already equal to the earliest attendance date, an error message displays.
  • When creating new automatic groups, a new message displays if a gap is detected in the group assignments. Group day rotations will need to be manually adjusted.
  • Updated alert messages have been added to provide clarity when database connection has been lost during the group creation process.
  • Removing a Group End Date now also removes the end date on the Student Group Assignment.
  • When adjusting the student group assignment, changing the selected group now updates the list of students in that group.

Blended Learning - Updates to Blended Learning Groups Incorrectly Updating Future Assignment End Dates (SIS-142047)

When a student has a future Blended Learning Group assignment and an update is made to current or past assignments, choosing to keep the future assignment caused it to be ended. This has been corrected. Choosing to keep the future assignment does not modify the end date.

Blended Learning - Group End Date Updates All Student Assignments to that Group (SIS-142139)

When a Blended Learning Group that automatically assigned students to it was end dated and new groups were created with a future start date, all students in that group were automatically end dates, even when they already had an end date. This has been corrected.

Blended Learning - Student Assignment Not Inheriting Existing End Date on Blended Learning Group (SIS-142147)

When a student was assigned to a Blended Learning Group that has an end date in the future, the student assignment did not inherit the group end date. This has been corrected.

Also note that a student's Group Assignment end date cannot be after the group end date.

Blended Learning - Ad hoc Participation Detail View (SIS-142194)

In the Campus.2044 Release (see SIS-141293), spaces were removed from column names in the Blended Learning Participation Detail View to maintain consistency with other database views. This caused errors for users who had saved filters using the column names with spaces.

To correct this, the original column names with spaces have been re-added but are deactivated. Use the Element Replacement tool in Data Utilities to update the saved filters with the spaced column names to instead use the non-spaced column names.

Blended Learning - Ad hoc Student Participation Check In Timestamp (SIS-142224)

An update to remove spaces in the Participation Detail View caused the Check In Timestamp field to report information from the incorrect database column. This has been corrected.

Blended Learning - Backdating of Blended Learning Groups (SIS-142435)

Performance issues have been discovered when larger districts are backdating many calendars over longer periods of time. To avoid these issues, backdating is currently being limited to one week at a time while a permanent solution is constructed. Internal error tracking measures have been added to assist in addressing the issue.

Blended Learning - Virtual Attendance Posting Job Performance (SIS-142471)

The performance of the Virtual Attendance Posting Job has been modified to run for one posting job at a time. This prevents a site with many calendars/many days from being brought down when the posting time is the same for all calendars.

Districts with many calendars running the posting job at the same time should set the posting job time 15-30 minutes earlier than the default time, 11:59 PM, to avoid posting attendance for the current day if the job is triggered after midnight.

Blended Learning - Walk-In Scheduler Group Counts (SIS-142657) [Enhancement] 

The total count of students in a Blended Learning Group now displays when hovering over active grid sections in Walk-in Scheduler. The hover shows the Room Number, total number of students with an IEP, and the Blended Learning Groups with a count of students in each group.

Campus Instruction

Student Assessment Summary Report Update (SIS-141964)

Previously, users were unable to select test that had data when generating the Student Assessment Summary Report. This has been corrected.

Virtual Participation Fix (SIS-142213)

Previously, teachers were unable to mark virtual participation for students who were enrolled in two sections in the same period if the student was listed last in the first section and first in the second section. This has been corrected.

The Fill Comment and Fill Participation Type options on the Attendance screen have been updated to allow teachers to filter the fill by students who have and have not participated.

Data Extract Utility

Update/Insert/Delete Statements Producing Error in Data Extract Utility SQL Statements (SIS-139828)

SQL statements entered in the Data Extract Utility were showing as complete but were producing an error token if the statement contained an update, insert, or delete. This issue was corrected.

Ed-Fi

New Ed-Fi Data Tool and Ed-Fi Updates (SIS-135709) [Enhancement] 

The Ed-Fi Data tool has been made available to allow districts to compare student related Ed-Fi resources with the data that is in Infinite Campus. An Ed-Fi JSON for the selected resource can also be viewed from this tool.

The following Ed-Fi updates have also been made:

  • The Resync tool has been updated to make the All People checkbox and Person ID field not required when resyncing non-person related resources. The Resync tool has also been updated to not select optional resources when the Select Dependencies checkbox is checked. The Select Dependencies checkbox will not be checked by default.
  • A Grades records error that was occurring due to the incorrect beginDate pulling in the Student Section Association Reference has been fixed.
  • The trigger logic for the Grading Periods resource has been updated to delete the resource when the last remaining day in the day table is deleted for a school.
  • The totalInstructionalDays element in the Grading Periods resource has also been updated to report when the instructional day checkbox is checked or unchecked. If all days are marked as non-instructional, the element will report ‘0’. The totalInstructionalDays element has also been updated to report the distinct number of instructional days from all calendars/schedule structures that have a specific grading period (same school, descriptor, and sequence) when there are multiple calendars and/or schedule structures.
  • The resync logic for the Grading Periods resource has been updated to not send the resource when there are no days in a calendar.
  • The removal of a mapped entry over an empty entry in the Resource Preferences has been fixed.
  • The resync queries have been updated to check configuration dates rather than hard-coded dates.
  • A bug that was occurring in the Economic Disadvantaged characteristic in the Student Education Organization resource has been fixed.
  • An error that was occurring in the Parents resource and multiple keys has been fixed.
  • The Calendar Delete tool has been updated so that no errors appear in the Error Log when the tool is run on a calendar that exists in Swagger. An update has also been made so that the Calendar resource is deleted when a calendar is deleted from Infinite Campus.
  • The Ed-Fi Error Log has been updated to log errors from the Delete Tool with invalid EdFiIdentityIDs.
  • An Import Certificate button has been added to the Connection Detail page to import a certificate from the ODS based on the API URL.
  • A School filter and All Schools checkbox has been added to the Ed-Fi Identity Mapping tool to allow districts to filter results by school.

Sale Price Now Displays on Pick List (SIS-141765) [Enhancement] 

A new column called "Sale Price" is now available on the Pick List report. This column displays the price the buyer paid for the item they purchased. The Sale Price could be the selling price, the reduced price, or the free price. Users cannot see the Sale Price column until your administrator assigns the new "Show Payment Amounts" tool right to them. This tool right is found under School Store > Reports > Pick List > Show Payment Amounts.

This case also included the following miscellaneous changes.

  • The Picked Up checkboxes were not disabled when the user only had read rights. This issue was corrected.
  • The filter icon was removed from the columns on the Sales report.

An App Instances table has been added to the Search Framework Status tool. This table tracks a list of Campus app servers and the last time they successfully registered with the search framework. Third-Party Password Breach Notification Added (SIS-128549) [Enhancement] 

Infinite Campus has been updated to read and utilize a global database used to track passwords and accounts affected by data breaches of non-Infinite Campus systems. A new 'Prohibit Passwords That Have Been Previously Disclosed in a Data Breach' preference has been added to the Account Security Preferences tool. When enabled, if Infinite Campus detects a user's password matches a password found in a publicly known data breach, it will automatically notify the user and recommend they update it.

This feature is optional and not automatically turned on or mandated by Infinite Campus.

NOTE: Notification of a breached password DOES NOT mean your Infinite Campus account has been breached. It means your password matches a password found in a global database of breached passwords from third-party systems who have had a data breach.

For states that have hidden the No Show field from the Enrollment editor, the Enrollment Overlap preference of Centralized Enrollment or Overlap Warning caused enrollments to be auto-ended and to be marked as No Show. This has been corrected.

When the No Show field is hidden on the Enrollment Record, that field does not display on the enrollment record and the Overlap Preference does not overwrite that hidden field. The No Show Report will still report any enrollment that is marked as No Show.

The following updates were made to the ESS DDC Report:

  • The following report population requirements were added:
    • Do not report students whose enrollment records are state excluded
    • Do not report students whose enrollment records are tied to a calendar that is state excluded
    • Do not report students whose enrollment records are tied to a grade level that is state excluded
    • Do not report students whose enrollment records are marked as "No Show"
  • The <violationcode> field was updated so that If the mapped State Event Code = 700, report the Standard Code value from the Violation Level 1 drop down.

The Behavior Resolutions screen has been updated so that if the Resolution Code is mapped to a State Resolution Code, the Resolution Start Date and Resolution End Date fields are required.

  • The Student Attendance Summary has been split into two reports: Student Attendance Audit and Distance Learning Student Summary.
    • The Student Attendance Audit provides aggregate attendance data per student within the selected calendar.
      • Additional fields have been added to the Student Attendance Audit to assist with state audits.
    • The Distance Learning Student Summary provides distance learning statistics per student within the selected calendar.
  • The Distance Learning Summary has been renamed to the Distance Learning School Summary.
  • The description at the top of the Attendance Extract editor has been updated to properly refer to and describe the new Student Attendance Audit and Distance Learning Student Summary reports as well as reference the renamed Distance Learning Summary.

NOTE: The Student Attendance Audit will not populate the Aggregate Ed-Fi Days Absent field for any school year prior to the 19-20 school year. For the 19-20 school year, the field will only report if a resync of the attendance data can successfully be performed. There are no issues in reporting for the 20-21 school year and beyond.

Also, the Student Attendance Detail will not populate properly for any school year prior to the 19-20 school year. For the 19-20 school year, the report will only populate correctly if a resync of the attendance data can successfully be performed. There are no issues in population for the 20-21 school year and beyond.

Colorado - Section 504 (SIS-135791)

The Section 504 tool in Student Information Program Participation is now available for Colorado districts. The Section 504 checkbox has been removed from the State Reporting Enrollment editor.

For those students who had the Section 504 checkbox marked on their enrollment record (for current and historical primary enrollments), a conversion has been done to create a Section 504 Program Participation record. If a student had multiple overlapping primary enrollments with the Section 504 checkbox marked, only the most recent enrollment record was converted.

Note the following about the Section 504 tool:

  • The editor contains a Start Date, an End Date and a Comments field.
  • All fields are available in Ad hoc reporting.
  • District-defined elements may be added. Overlapping records are not allowed.
  • Tool rights are necessary for access.
  • Use the Federal/State Program Updater to import federal or state program participation data.

  • If an attendance record exists:

    • with comments passed in by the tool
    • AND there are no associated check in/out records associated with PeriodIDs for the date
  • Delete the attendance record as part of the initial deletes for the tool.

The stored procedure will no longer insert virtual attendance records in non-instructional periods. Also, a one-time delete script has been run to remove virtual attendance previously posted in non-instructional periods.

Massachusetts – Virtual Day Attendance Override Added (SIS-141936)

A Virtual Day Event Override was added to Day > Type attribute. This field helps in attendance reporting for calendars where blended learning groups were not set up completely correct at the beginning of the school year. This option allows districts to count a calendar day as virtual for the district even if blended learning groups were not set up.

To properly report attendance for Virtual Day Override Events on calendars, the following SIF logic was modified:

  • StudentAttendanceSummary/DaysAttended
    • In Person is defined as a student who does not have a Blended Learning Group assigned to them or is in a Blended Learning Group that is not assigned to a Day Event on the Calendar or there is NOT a Virtual Day Override Event on the calendar.
  • StudentAttendanceSummary/ExcusedAbsences
    • In Person is defined as a student who does not have a Blended Learning Group assigned to them or is in a Blended Learning Group that is not assigned to a Day Event on the Calendar or there is NOT a Virtual Day Override Event on the calendar.

Massachusetts – FTE Override Fields Added to District Assignment (SIS-142235)

The October 1 FTE Override and EOY FTE Override fields have been added to the Employment Assignment Information section of a District Assignment record.

To account for these new fields, logic for the SIF StaffAssignment/JobFTE element has been updated to the following:

  • Report the value of the FTE of Assignment for the staff. (When a district assignment does not have an associated course section that extends on or past the current date, do not include this district assignment.)
    • Report October 1 FTE Override value if this field is populated and the reporting date is 10/01.
    • Report EOY FTE Override if this field is populated and the reporting date is in the month of June.
  • When the staff does NOT have a district assignment with a Start Date <= the current date, and the district assignment(s) do not have an active course as of the current date, report 0.00.
  • The value reported cannot exceed 1.00.
  • When the District Employment FTE of Assignment field = Null, assume 0.0 in this field.
  • When multiple District Assignment records exist with the same Title standard code (JobFunction/OtherCodeList/OtherCode) for a staff member per school per school year, sum the FTE values of the active assignments.

Massachusetts – SIMS and SIF Updated to Properly Report Student End Status (SIS-142290)

The SIMS Report and SIF logic have been updated to properly report a student’s end status when the end date on their enrollment matches the report effective date.

Updated logic is as follows:

  • SIMS Report – enrollmentStatus
    • Report Enrollment Status if Enrollment Status has a valid value AND extract Effective Date > or = to enrollment End Date.
    • If End Date is after the Effective Date AND Enrollment Status has a valid value other than 40 or 41, report 01.
  • SIF – StudentSchoolEnrollment/ExitTypeCode
    • If Local Enrollment Status = "40 Not Enrolled: Receiving SPED Services only", or if the state reporting date is on or after the enrollment end date and there is no end status, report the standard code associated with the state value mapped to the local end status.
  • SIF – StudentSchoolEnrollment/ ExitType/OtherCodeList/OtherCode
    • If state reporting date is on or after the enrollment end date and the enrollment end status is not null, then report 2 digit end status code.

Massachusetts – SIF StaffAssignment to Send Non-Teacher Record to State (SIS-142578)

Population and business rules for the SIF StaffAssignment object have been updated to include the following:

  • The following requirements only apply to assignments where the title codes only have a value attribute of "t"
  • The staff must be assigned to the section as a Primary Teacher OR a Teacher
  • Note: If all assigned sections have no students with primary enrollments rostered into the course, staff assignment will not pull (in other words, at least 1 student with a primary enrollment must be enrolled in at least one course section the teacher is assigned to).

Also, the following Non-Teaching Staff Assignment Codes were updated with a "t" in the Value column to identify those non-teaching staff codes that should report to the State. These Staff Assignment Codes can be found under System Administration > Custom > Attribute Dictionary > EmploymentAssignment > Title > Dictionary. "T" values can be updated by the district at any time as needed.

Missouri - Virtual Attendance Calculation (SIS-142436)

Oklahoma – Standard Codes Added Admission Attributes (SIS-142149)

A Standard Code mapping has been added to each Admission attribute (Student Information > General > Enrollments > SIF Fields > Admission).

The SIF ResidencyStatus/Code and ResidencyStatus/OtherCodeList/OtherCode (Codeset = "StateProvince") elements have been updated to report the standard code of the Admission value selected. If Admission is null, the attribute Default Value is reported. If the Default Value is null, the element reports as null.

Pennsylvania - PIMS Student Template, Student Snapshot Logic for Title 1 (SIS-141757)

Logic for the following fields has been modified to accurately report Title 1 on the Student Template and Student Snapshot Templates:

  • Programs Services Code (Field 96)
    • Title 1 Part A reports a value of Y for all students in the school when the Title 1 Part A checkbox is marked on the School editor.
    • If the school isn't Title 1, a value of Y reports when the student has a Flag State Code of 015 and the Start Date and End Date on that flag is populated and on or after the Effective Date entered on the Extract editor.
  • Homeless (Field 111), Migrant (Field 112), Foster (field 209)
    • A value only reports when the student's state grade level is AAP.
    • A value of N reports when a student is in grade AAP; otherwise, the fields report blank.

Texas– Submission 1 reporting corrections for 20/21 reporting (TSDS) (SIS-142547)

Fixes have been made to the following TSDS extracts for Submission 1 reporting.

  • Education Organization Interchange – values were not reporting for the TX-ProgramOfStudy element. This has been fixed.
  • Student Interchange – Homeless records were not following reporting logic for Submission 1 reporting causing multiple records to report. To report, a student must have an active Homeless record on the snapshot date. If multiple Homeless records exist for a student, only the most recent will report.

The following changes were made for 2020-21 reporting.

  • Student Record Collection (SRC) Update. Reporting logic for field 128, Remote Instruction Percent of Time was updated. The report now looks for blended learning groups in which the student is enrolled for the in-seat and distance learning minutes.
  • The Responsible, Resident and Serving Division School dropdown lists were updated.
  • Added a new Career Cluster code "17: Energy" to the Program Participation > Academic Programs > Cluster and the student Career Tech tab > CTE Career Cluster dropdown lists.
  • Added a new Career Pathway field below to the Program Participation > Academic Programs > VA Career Pathway and the student Career Tech tab > Career Pathway dropdown lists.

Wisconsin - Ed-Fi Discipline Resources Updates (SIS-139002)

The ‘Post’ trigger logic for the Discipline Actions, Discipline Incidents, and Student Discipline Incident Association resources has been updated to include students that have a resolution that occurs on the student's IEP's last day and/or first day. The ‘Post’ trigger logic has also been updated to include the ‘WI Imported Plan’ print format when a student has a behavior event that meets the criteria with a resolution of 'ISS'.

Wisconsin – Exclude from Ed-Fi Checkbox for Course Grading Task (SIS-140687)

An Exclude from Ed-Fi checkbox has been added to the Course Grading Task Detail and Course Master Grading Task Detail to allow districts to exclude a grading task from reporting to Ed-Fi.

The triggering logic for the Grades and Student Section Association resources has been updated to not report if the Exclude from Ed-FI checkbox has been marked on a grading task.

Districts using the new Exclude from Ed-Fi checkbox will need to perform a resync on the Grades and Student Section Association resources.
