Grading Setup Tool Rights

Staff such as Curriculum Managers or System Administrators use the Grading Setup tools to establish how grades are assigned and labeled in Campus. Choices set up in these tools are selected when entering course and grading information in other Campus tools, as well as in Grade Book and reports.

To learn how these tools are used, refer to the articles found in the Grading Setup category.

Assignment Mark Setup

Assignment Marks convert scores entered into a percentage. In this example, if a teacher enters a score of C, the student will be given 75% on that assignment.

Credit Group Setup

Credit groups define the types of credits awarded to students on transcripts and are used to track student progress toward graduation.

GPA Calculation Setup

Custom GPA Calculations can be set up to calculate students' cumulative GPAs based on performance in selected courses. For example, a custom GPA calculation can be used to calculate students' math and science GPA when applying to an engineering school.

Grading Scale Setup

Grading scales are used by the Campus grade book to convert numeric percentages to In Progress grades.

Grading Task Setup

Grading tasks represent a type of grade issued at a particular time during the school year. For example, a course may have a Progress grade, a Term grade issued each term the course meets, and a Final Grade that posts to transcript when the course is completed.

Missing Assignment Setup

Missing Assignment Setup lets districts determine the effect that the Missing flag has on assignment scores.

Score Group & Rubric Setup

Score Groups and Rubrics are aligned to Grading Tasks. In the example below, when a teacher posts grades to a grading task aligned to this Score Group (for example, Term Grade), students with a numeric value of 97 or above will be assigned a score of A+. Rubrics are typically aligned to Standards and indicate progress to acheiving a level of proficiency for a task (e.g. Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet).

Suggested User Groups

Delete rights should be assigned to only one or very few people. Typically, users of these tools have already been assigned one or more Product Security Roles that grant administrative-level access; therefore, a user group assignment is not necessary.

If your district's needs are different, you may choose to create a group that meets those needs.

See User Groups and Suggested Roles for more information.
