Activity Registration

New Option to Reassign Custom Form for Signature (SIS-144556) [Enhancement] 

A new option called "Reassign" was added to the Documents panel in the Activity Monitor. This option allows you to reassign a custom form to a user who did not have a Campus Student or Campus Parent account or the account was disabled when the student was registered for an activity.

Update for Manually Adding Students to an Activity Roster (SIS-148947)

You can manually add students to an activity roster if they are enrolled in the school associated with the activity. Logic for this feature was updated to allow you to add students who have a future-dated enrollment (during the activity registration start date through the activity end date), a current enrollment with no end date, or an enrollment end date prior to the current system date.

Changes were made to ensure districts can manually add students to a roster when the student or parent/guardian started but did not complete the registration process in the portal.

Update for Accessing Activity Registration Forms in the Portal (SIS-149498)

Changes were made to ensure parents/guardians can access and complete custom forms in Campus Parent if the student opened the form before the parent but was not eligible to complete the form. As part of this change, changes were also made to ensure guardians can open forms and sign required forms before adding them to My Cart.

Activity Registration Maintenance (SIS-149778)

The following improvements were made to the Activity Registration module.

  • The Roll Forward process was not saving a changed Activity Name if the Activity Name was different then the Product Name. This issue was corrected.
  • The Roll Forward process was including inactive categories. This issue was corrected.
  • When using the Copy feature on the Activity Dashboard, the Description and Special Instructions were not copied from the original activity to the new activity. This issue was corrected.

Blended Learning

Tool Rights for Student Blended Learning Groups and Daily Attendance (SIS-142023)

Users only need to be given Read rights to Daily Attendance to see the Blended Learning Group icons on the Daily Attendance Tool. Previously, users also needed to be assigned Read and Write rights to the Student Blended Learning Group Assignments tool.

Blended Learning Groups - Miscellaneous Updates (SIS-148747) [Enhancement] 

The following modifications have been made to Blended Learning Groups tools:

  • Error messages and confirmation alerts have been reviewed and modified where needed for consistency and clarity across all Blended Learning Group tools. 
  • An issue has been corrected when using the New Blended Learning Groups tool to extend automatic groups where the group was extended but student assignment dates were not. 
  • Using the progress bar to move through steps is no longer allowed when a required field is not selected. 
  • When adjusting a Student Group Assignment, a group only displays for selection when the Group Start Date is on or after the Adjustment Start Date. 
  • On the student's Blended Learning Groups Assignments tool, when a user adds a second assignment to a group in which the student is already assigned, an error message displays indicating that concurrent group assignments is not allowed.

Blended Learning Groups - Exclude Calendars Logic (SIS-149490)

Adjustments have been made to all Blended Learning tools that allow calendars to be excluded so the creation of or redistribution of groups no longer stalls due to the number of calendars included or excluded from the process.

When adjusting Student Group Assignments, users can now enter a Start Date AND an End Date (previously, only a Start Date could be entered) to assign to all students in the selected group.

Calendar

Calendars Marked for Deletion And Syncing Logic (SIS-149050)

When a calendar is marked for deletion and a Batch Re-sync is triggered before the calendar is deleted, the Batch Re-sync process now ignores any calendar that is marked for deletion.

When a calendar is marked for deletion, SIF requests for CalendarSummary no longer causes an error.

Campus Instruction

Posting Grades - Dropped Students (SIS-142325)

Previously, when posting grades through the grade book for a section that included a dropped student, the dropped student was included in the list of students for whom grades were posted, even though the student was excluded from posting. This has been corrected.

Curriculum Updates (SIS-148839) [Enhancement] 

The following updates have been made to curriculum with this release:

  • Updated the curriculum editor and the Copier so that the "All Assigned" indicator becomes a split button if the teacher has Student Groups created, allowing the teacher to easily select a group. Teachers can click the arrow to select a group, or the "# Assigned" button to see and modify the list of assigned students.
  • Assignment comments are now correctly truncated on Campus Student/Parent and an occasional error has been resolved.
  • Changing the grading alignment of an assignment no longer clears the selected Assignment Mark.
  • Default values now correctly display on a new assignment when it includes a Scoring Rubric.
  • The Curriculum List has been updated so that if a date validation is generated for any curriculum, the folder(s) in the list will display as expanded so that the curriculum in question is visible. Also updated curriculum so that the date validation message displays correctly on small screens.
  • Improved sort logic in the Section dropdown list in the Curriculum Copier.
  • The selected Category is no longer changed if a users without proper tool rights attempts to update grading setup.
  • Addressed an issue that occurred if a user attempted to copy assignments into a section with not Tasks/Standards.
  • Addressed an issue in which an assignment with content created for a section with no teacher assignment did not display correctly in Campus Student.
  • Updated the Curriculum Copier so that if the destination term only has one grading alignment, it is selected by default.

In-Progress Grades (SIS-149097)

Previously, in-progress grades were not updated properly when a scored assignment was deleted from the Planner. This has been corrected.

Campus Learning

New - Importing Curriculum (SIS-148863) [Enhancement] 

A tool for importing curriculum has been added. To be imported, curriculum must be in a cartridge that is compliant with the IMS Common Cartridge specification; other curriculum formats cannot be imported at this time.

A Curriculum Library tool has been added for curriculum directors for importing and managing this curriculum. Once imported, curriculum can be made available to teachers. A limited version of the teacher's Library has been made available. Only imported curriculum is available for teachers through this library.

Course/Section Setup

Printing Section Seating Charts (SIS-149624) [Enhancement] 

An option has been added to the Section list to print a section's seating chart. Click the link to view the section's chart(s) in PDF format. The purpose of these printed charts is to assist administrators in contact tracing should students fall ill.

To display in this PDF, seating charts must be created by the teacher in Instruction. Teachers should take care to keep seating charts up to date as students enter and drop a section to increase the usefulness of this report.

Centralized Searching Added to the New Look and Feel of Infinite Campus (SIS-141819) [Enhancement] 

Significant updates were made to the way users search for tools, people, and data within the new look and feel of Infinite Campus. Now, instead of using a search bar at the top middle part of the screen to search for students and tools, users can click a magnifying glass icon in the upper left-hand side of the screen to access a unified search tool. When selected, the new search tool appears on the left-hand side of the screen, allowing you search for data using any of the following contexts:

New Deposit Request Report (SIS-149520) [Enhancement] 

A new Deposit Request Report is available to help districts with bank reconciliation. The report provides the Transaction Fee total and the Merchant Flat Fee total for each Fund ID that is part of a single day's Deposit Request. Users may select the day on which they want to report. After selecting the day, Campus creates the Deposit Request Report which includes every transaction that was part of the deposit request and groups the transactions by Bank Account ID. The Gross Amount, Fees, and Net Amount are provided for each Fund ID at the end of the report. The Deposit Request Report is a PDF file and can be generated from the Deposit Reporter.

Kansas - KIDS EOYA Section 504 Logic (SIS-148469)

Section 504 (field 36) on the KIDS EOYA Extract now reports as follows:

  • First, logic looks at the student's Primary Disability. If a student has a Disability Code of WD in the Primary Disability Indicator (field 34), a value of 1 reports.
  • Second, if the Section 504 field is populated on the student's enrollment, that value reports.
  • Third, if the student has neither of these conditions marked, the field reports blank.

Kansas - Gifted Reporting, Special Education State Reporting (SIS-149245) [Enhancement] 

Two new tools have been added for recording student participation in services:

  • Gifted - this tool tracks the student's participation in Gifted and Talented programming.
  • Special Education State Reporting - this tool allows users to store and manage student Special Education state reporting data. This tool removes the legal burden of having a Special Education team meeting for an amendment to the setting for age-based changes such as an early childhood student aging out.

A conversion has been done for students who have active enrollments in the 2021-22 school year where the Gifted checkbox is marked and where a Primary Disability is selected.

Enrollment End Status Type State Code ‘3509: Completed with state-recognized equivalency cert for students who recv an Adult Ed Diploma or GED’ has been added. The Value field on the Attribute contains '03509' and returns in state reporting when Enrollment End Status Type mapped to State Code 3509 is selected.

Maine – Instruction Mode Tool Now Available and Attendance Report Changed to Student Daily Attendance Report (SIS-149461)

The Instruction Mode tool is now available. This tool allows schools and districts to capture and manage when/if a student is using remote learning.

The Attendance Report has been reworked and renamed to the Student Daily Attendance Report. This report details attendance data for students enrolled and receiving instruction in their Primary enrollment calendar for the report window.

Michigan - General Collection & Student Record Maintenance Updates (SIS-147572)

The XML header of the fall General Collection and the Student Record Maintenance extracts have been updated. The following fields have been removed from the PersonalDemographics component in both extracts: StreetAddress, StreetAddress2, PersonalDemographicsCity, State, ZipCode, and Phone. A new component of Contacts has been added which includes the following fields: AddressTypeDescriptor, StreetNumberName, ApartmentRoomeSuiteNumber, City, StateAbbreviationDescriptor, PostalCode, and TelephoneNumber. A new component of ThirdGradeRetentionDecision has also been added to both extracts and the Third Grade Retention report has been removed from the extract editor. 

Additionally, a new Special Ed Setting code has been added of 14: Transitional Program.

Minnesota - Ed-Fi Student School Associations Update (SIS-146840)

Minnesota MIIC ID Import Update (SIS-149055)

A new MIIC ID Import process has been created for the Immunization Import for 2021. The existing formats are still available for historical purposes.

In Ad hoc, the new filter name that needs to be generated and then sent to the state is the MIIC Upload Record 2021.

The state provides several files which contain several data fields, some of which are not used for the MIIC import. The new MIIC ID Import 2021 and the MIIC Immunization Record Import 2021 will utilize only the "Full Vaccinations" file for both the MIIC ID import process and the Immunization record process.

All of the updated file types must use the MIIC provided file in the pipe delimited file format when exporting and importing the data.

Missouri - KG Readiness (SIS-149380)

A new KG Readiness tool is now available for Missouri districts to assess a child's progress toward entering kindergarten.

This new tool replaces the KG Readiness field on the Enrollment record. For students in Kindergarten who had an Enrollment record in the active school year, data recorded in the KG Readiness field on the Enrollment record has been converted to the new KG Readiness tool.

The MOSIS Student Core Extract has been modified to report KG Readiness information from this new tool.

Missouri - MOSIS Enrollment and Attendance Updates (SIS-149447)

The following modifications have been made to the MOSIS Enrollment and Attendance Report:

  • Field 95, Regular Hours Attended, and Field 100, Regular Hours Absent, now looks at the Duration value on the Calendar Day for the instructional minutes for that day. Student attendance minutes cannot be more than the value associated with the Duration value. When the Duration value is blank or zero, the Student Day (instructional minutes) is used.
  • Field 158, Chronic Absenteeism, now reports the same number as the Days Absent (Federal) value that reports on the Federal Chronic Absenteeism Report.

Montana – Instruction Mode Section Added to School History (SIS-148905)

Montana – Enrollment Roll Forward Erroring Out for Extracurricular Activities Only and Gifted Evaluated Fields (SIS-149423)

Gifted Evaluated and Extracurricular Activities Only fields were producing an error during the Enrollment Roll Forward process. This issue was corrected.

In the future when Gifted Evaluated is checked on a student's enrollment the value will copy forward to their next enrollment, the Extracurricular Activities Only fields will not copy forward.

Nevada - NV Gains and Losses Report Update for PDF (SIS-149610)

The PDF version of the Gains and Losses Report was updated to ensure students who share the same name and are not true duplicate students report correctly as one line for each individual student. Unique students are identified as having different state IDs, person IDs, middle names, birth dates, etc.

New Hampshire - Virtual Instruction Report (SIS-149578)

A new Virtual Instruction Report has been added to the i4see Extracts. This new report lists the total percentage of time a student spends in virtual instruction and in-class instruction.

A new Virtual Instruction Percentage field has been added to the State Reporting Enrollment editor. This is an override field, meaning that if there is no value entered into this field, the value is calculated from Blended Learning.

The following updates were made to support 2021-22 reporting.

  • A new tool called K5P is now available (Student Information > Program Participation > State Programs > K5P). Students in grades K-5 that qualify for the K5 Plus program should be reported in the K5P tab.
  • The Digital Equity tool is now available (Student Information > Program Participation > State Programs > Digital Equity). The Digital Equity tool allows schools to track digital devices and internet availability for students and staff.
  • A new field called Birth Gender was added to the Protected Identity Information fields on the Identity tool. This is a required field that must be populated for all students.
  • The Gender field on the Demographics and Identity tools was renamed "Gender Identity."
  • K5P was removed from the Submission Schedule dropdown list for the following templates:

Pennsylvania - Instruction Mode, Non-Binary Gender Reporting, PIMS Programs Fact Updates (SIS-149472)

Instruction Mode

A new Instruction Mode tool is now available for Pennsylvania districts. This tool allows districts to record whether a student is participating in hybrid learning or remote learning. See the Instruction Mode article below for additional information.

Non-Binary Gender Reporting

Students can now be identified as a non-binary gender on the Identities tab. *X: Non-binary or not listed* has been added to the Gender field (not the Legal Gender field)

Note that Pennsylvania accepts a non-binary gender for state reporting purposes, but federal reporting standards do not. See the PIMS Reporting article below for additional information.

PIMS Programs Fact Template

The Program Code field now reports the new Instruction Mode program codes.

Also, fields 8-18 now report blank (filler fields), and fields 19-25 have been removed from the report.

Child Find has been added as an available reporting submission for multiple TSDS Extracts. Upon selecting Child Find from the Submission drop list in the report editor, the following Interchanges are available:

Child Find collects the State Performance Plan Indicator (SPPI) 11 and 12 student information. Virginia - Student Record Collection Updates for 2021-22 (SIS-149460)

The following changes were made for reporting the Student Record Collection.

  • A checkbox called SLIFE was added to the EL tool in Program Participation. This checkbox identifies students with limited and/or interrupted formal education defined as an English learner who:
    • enters or re-enters any school in the United States at or after the age of 8; AND
    • is identified at English Language Proficiency (ELP) Level 1 or 2; AND
    • has at least 2 years less schooling than their similar-age peers.
  • The GED Program code 3: GED was removed from the Graduation tool.
  • Instructional Setting code, 8: Supervised Agricultural Experience was reactivated (Scheduling > Course > Section > Section Editor).
  • The CTE finisher code 6: 2 CTE course sequence complete/grad req not met was activated in the Student Status droodown list (Student Information > Academic Planning > Programs > New Academic Program).
  • Field 132 on the SRC report is now "SLIFE Status Flag." This field reports when the Report Type is Fall, Spring or EOY. Y reports when the El > SLIFE checkbox is marked and reports N when the checkbox is not marked.
  • Field 133 on the SRC report is now "Date of Entry into U.S. Schools." This field reports when the Report Type is Fall, Spring or EOY for all students and reports from Census > Demographics > Date Entered US School. If the date field is blank, this field reports the Start Date from the student's earliest enrollment.
