Activity Registration
Activity Registration Updates (SIS-145910) [Enhancement]
The following changes were made for Activity Registration.
- When a Primary Owner is not the person who created the activity changes the Primary Owner to another person, Campus now displays a message explaining that they will not have access to the activity after they save their changes.
- When a Primary Owner is not the person who created the activity and changes themselves as the Activity Owner (Secondary), Campus now displays a message explaining that they will have only have read-only access to the activity after they save their changes.
- The Campus Portal now finds the student's current enrollment record and checks that school's portal preference to determine whether Activity Registration section should display. If there isn't a current enrollment record, Campus will use a previous enrollment record to determine if the Activity Registration section can display.
- If a user opens an activity in the Activity Dashboard that is "View" only, the button on bottom is now Close and not Cancel.
- Users can now select multiple people in the Primary Owner field.
- A "Created by:" field with the name of the person who submitted the activity for proposal or created the activity to was added to Step 1 on the Proposed Activity/Activity Builder.
- Approvers can now skip to the final step in the review process and are not required to enter a Category or Product Type when returning or declining an proposed activity. However, Category and Product Type are still required to approve a proposed activity.
- Users submitting a proposed activity can now skip to the final step in the process when a proposed activity has been returned.
- Users cannot approve their own proposed activity.
- The title of the Recall window was changed from "Removal Details" to "Recall Details".
- When the "Additional Forms Pending" checkbox is marked, the "Approved" option on the final step is disabled.
- A message was added to the end of the Proposal Workflow to notify users that they cannot approve an activity because required fields are missing or additional forms are pending.
- If a user does not have Delete rights to the Activity Dashboard, they cannot see the Delete option now.
- Comments can now be appended (if needed) on declined and returned activity proposals.
- The Additional Forms Pending Checkbox selection was not saving when the activity status was "In Review." This issue was corrected.
- Comments were not saving for proposed activities prior to being approved. This issue was corrected.

Pivot Designer Taking Over 10 Minutes to Populate Data for Some Pivots (SIS-146062)
Some pivots in Pivot Designer were taking 10 minutes or longer to populate data for users. To correct this issue, updates were made to greatly improve the performance and overall speed of data populated for pivots.

Attendance
Virtual Attendance - Records from Other Calendars (SIS-143716)
Invalid attendance codes were being inserted into the virtual attendance posting job, which caused attendance codes to display on the student's Attendance tool as an empty yellow box.
This has been corrected by preventing a Blended Learned Preference from saving an Attendance Excuse ID not in its own calendar. Additional checks have been added to the stored procedure to skip the execution of the Virtual Attendance Job if the Calendar ID and the Excuse ID are not associated with each other.

Student Number Format Option Incorrectly Allowing Duplicate Numbers (SIS-73710)
Logic for the ‘Windowing start number end number - sequential (Maximum number of digits allowed is 9)’ Student Number Format option has been updated to include the following to ensure no student can have the same student number:
- When a student number is manually entered there is now a validation on save to verify that the entered value does not already exist and is assigned to another student.
- When 5 or more student numbers have been manually entered in a row and then the next student gets their student number auto generated it will display an error.
- When a student number is manually entered this value is inserted into dbo.stateID so the table doesn't get out of sync with the values in dbo.person.studentNumber.

The BIE Graduation Rate Data Mart tool is now available in both BIE District Edition and NASIS State Edition sites.
Data marts provide a way for states and districts to audit and federally report on a variety of student data collections. The BIE Graduation Rate Data Mart collects and stores student information relative to students of a specific cohort year and reports data associated to their exit from high school. This tool should be used after the completion of a cohort year. Data marts do not automatically update; therefore, this process must be completed on an annual basis.
All Data Marts must follow a two-step Validation and Authentication process. The validation process is critical for reviewing and correcting student data records before they are authenticated for federal reporting submission. The authentication process assumes all data reviewed in validation is correct and is used for final report sign-off and submission.
For both validation and authentication, a snapshot is used to collect student data records. Data captured by a snapshot is static and represents the state of the data at a specific moment in time. Snapshots can be generated one to multiple times as corrections are being made. Campus only stores data from the most recent snapshot.

Two options are available to generate the report - Summary and Detail.
- Summary provides a statistical analysis of all the students whose attendance was affected by adverse weather or road conditions. This option is best suited for federal reporting and excludes individual student information.
- Detail provides information specific to the student(s) affected. This option is best suited for internal purposes.
To assist state administrators in having more up-to-date attendance data in state level reports, the Resync State Data tool now includes the option to sync Aggregated Attendance and Attendance Excuse.
On a weekly basis, district-level data is automatically synced to the state. To capture attendance changes happening between syncs, a state administrator might consider manually running the Resync State Data tool for aggregated attendance. When using this tool, select the Check Dependencies box to include each parent object attendance aggregation is dependent on.

This report provides BIE district-level and NASIS state-level administrators the ability to analyze and interpret student assessment data previously collected by the BIE Assessment Data Mart tool. This tool relies on data collected by the Assessment Data Mart and does not retrieve data from any other sources or locations in Campus.
When the report generates, it will generate in a new window in the Pivot Designer. This provides users the ability to filter, sort, analyze and interpret the data they are viewing as well as export and share their findings with others using a variety of charts and graphs available. Users must be given tool rights to not only the Assessment Report but also Pivot Designer to use the Pivot Designer features when viewing this report.

Iowa - Homeless Record Cleanup (SIS-144551)
A script has been run to clean up Homeless records where the Homeless End Date is before the Homeless Start Date. Homeless End Dates were updated using the student's enrollment in the same year as the Homeless record's Start Date. If the Enrollment End Date was before the Homeless Start Date, Homeless End Date was set to null. If the Enrollment End Date was on or after the Homeless Start Date, Homeless End Date was set to equal Enrollment End Date. If the Enrollment End Date is null but the last instructional day of the Calendar is after today's date, the Homeless End Date was set to null. If the Calendar's End Date is on or before today, the Homeless End Date was set to the last instructional day of the Calendar.

Kansas - KIAS Extract (SIS-145470)
Three new fields have been added to the KIAS Extract to collect data on Foster Care Students who have Days of ISS, Days OSS and Days of Expulsion.
In addition, the following modifications have been made:
- Bullying - Educational Services During Expulsion (field 8) (previously Educational Services During Expulsion) reports a value of N when the Resolution Code is 560 or 565 and the incident type is Bullying.
- IDEA - Education Services During Expulsion (field 33) (previously IDEA Services During Expulsion) reports a value of N when the Resolution Code is 560 or 565 and the student is an IDEA student.
- Educational Services during Violence Related Expulsion (field 41) reports a value of Y when the Law Enforcement Referral is 01 or is mapped to a state resolution code of 750.
- Field 42, IDEA Educational Services During Expulsion, has been renamed to Educational Services During Expulsion.
- Several fields now report a value of null when the student is NOT an IDEA student.

Kansas - EOYA History/Government Score Fields (SIS-146453)
The EOYA Extract has been modified to ignore History/Gov Assessments when the Code on the Test Detail is not an integer for the History/Government Score fields of Recognize and Evaluate (field 78), Analyze Context and Draw Conclusions (field 79), Research and Make Connections (field 80). Previously, if an assessment had a non-integer code, an error was returned and the extract did not generate.

Massachusetts – SIF Instruction Mode Logic Update (SIS-145636)
Logic for the SIF StudentSchoolEnrollment/InstructionMode element has been updated to send the most recent InstructionMode for a student if their enrollment record ends prior to the State Reporting date. Updated logic is as follows:
- Report the Status code from the Instruction Mode tab the student is in as of the current date.
- If a student does not have an active Instruction Mode as of the current date, send the last known Instruction Mode for that student.
- If a student does not have an Instruction Mode at all for the school year, then report blank.
Also, logic for the existing ZIAgent Nightly Audit sync has been updated to include the following:

A new field called "Graded Work Provided" was added to the Behavior Resolution screen. As part of this change, a new field called "Graded Work Provided" was added to the end of the DCV Extract to report whether Yes or No is selected on the Behavior Resolution.

WA BIE– Enrollment Summary Report – WA BIE ONLY (SIS-134147)
When the Enrollment Summary report was generated for a WA BIE school, column ‘7: Two or more races’ did not display. This has been fixed and was only found to be affecting Washington BIE schools.
In the Person Information section of the Demographics tab, a fix has been made to the mapping between Race and Federal Designation. The following mappings were corrected for Washington BIE schools (only) and existing records converted to reflect correct Federal Designations.
- When Race(s) is Black or African American the Federal Designation will display as 4: Black or African American. Previously this was mapped to 5: Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander.
- If Race(s) includes more than one designation, then Federal Designation will display as 7: Two or more races.
- If Tribe (on the NASIS tab for the student) includes a value other than 999 (Non Tribal Member), the Federal Designation will continue to display as 2: American Indian or Alaska Native.

Wisconsin - Ed-Fi Locator Tool (SIS-120218) [Enhancement]
The Ed-Fi Locator tool has been enabled to allow districts to assign Ed-Fi IDs for students.
The ID Post-Amble field has been added to the Ed-Fi Connection Configuration for districts to enter the ID Post-Amble. Districts should enter the following value in the ID Post Amble field: /identity/v2/2021/.

Wisconsin – Ed-Fi Course Transcripts and Student Academic Records Updates (SIS-140052)
The Course Transcripts resource has been updated to post Course Transcripts without doing a get on courses.
The following updates have been made for the Student Academic Records resource:
- The logic for summer school graduates has been updated to report diploma information if the graduation date is after 6/30 but before the start of the next school year when the Diploma Period is Summer.
- An issue with incorrect students reporting errors in the Ed-Fi Error Log when adding a diploma date has been corrected.
- The logic for Student Academic Records has also been updated so that when a student graduates and has diploma information entered, a new record posts with the diploma information in addition to the other records that are reported based on enrollments.
A resync on the Course Transcripts and Student Academic Records resources needs to be completed with this update.
