Student Transportation (Kansas)

Before moving to Transportation 2.0:

With the Campus.2527 Release (June 2025), a new Student Transportation tool was made available.

Once Transportation 2.0 has been enabled, you cannot switch back to the previous version. Existing transportation integrations will break, and transportation data will no longer appear in the interface (with the exception of student parking data and parking documents). Previous transportation data will only be available via Ad hoc reporting.

See the How do I move to Transportation 2.0? for additional information.

Tool Search: Transportation

The Student Transportation tool allows users to record a student's transportation information, including bus stop(s), bus(es) used during the school day, typical arrival/departure times, and the number of miles transported per day.

See the Student Transportation article for information on entering routes, requests, and parking details.

State Reporting Transportation Modifications

Transportation information is reported in KIDS Collection Extract and the Student Education Organization Associations Resource. These reports have been updated to report from the original Transportation and the Transporation 2.0 tools.

The Transportation FTE field on the student's enrollment record displays but is not editable. Data from that field displays in the Transportation FTE field on the student's Transportation record.

Transportation FTE (field 49 on the KIDS ENRL and MILT) reports the round-trip miles the student travels to the school to the nearest tenth. This is based on the most recent value within the calendar and date range selected for the report.

For the 2025-26 school year, the following fields are no longer collected on the KIDS Collection or the Student Education Organization Associations Resource:

  • Transported at District Expense
  • 10 Mile Law
