Course Rules Updates

Product Path: Scheduling & Courses > Courses > Course Rules

New rules were added for the Before/After and Precedes/Follows. The rules now have logic to apply to the Term (existing functionality) and to the Period (new functionality.

The Precedes/Follows rule has also been renamed to make it clear the rule applies to courses placed in the period or term IMMEDIATELY preceding the course and IMMEDIATELY following the course.

Course Rules content has also been updated. Details on the available Scheduling Rules and Planning Rules have been moved to new articles.

See the Course Rules - Start here article for a list of all content available for Course Rules.

Staff Role added to Scheduling Board, Staff Planner

Product Path: Scheduling & Courses > Scheduling > Scheduling Board, Scheduling & Courses > Scheduling > Staff Planner

The Scheduling Board and the Staff Planner now include the option to assign a Role to a staff person, like the way it is assigned on Section Staff History.

See the Role Assignments sections on Section Staff History for details. The same information is included in the Scheduling Board and Staff Planner articles.

Fee Disputes

Product Path: Census > People > Fees

The Fees tool now flags disputed payments and blocks payment or fee voids until the dispute is resolved.

Recipient Call Status Enhancement

Product Path: Communication > Messenger > Sent Message Log 2.0

The Recipient Call Statuses in Sent Message Log 2.0 have been enhanced to include more descriptive statuses, as well as additional Status Details.

Question Banks

Product Path: Instruction > Curriculum Planning > My Curriculum > New > Question Bank

A new feature has been added to quizzes called Question Banks. Question Banks are a type of curriculum that is only visible to teachers and other curriculum staff. Banks collect questions together to make it simpler to store, access, and reuse quiz questions. Teachers can create banks for subjects, units, or any other grouping that makes sense for their curriculum.

Redesigned Seating Charts – Limited Release

Path: Instruction > Students > Seating Charts

The Seating Charts tool has been redesigned to improve the usability, flexibility, and accessibility of the tool. Improvements include:

  • Greater flexibility in seat placement to more closely mirror non-traditional classroom layouts and larger seating arrangements.
  • Option to copy a seating chart between sections and years, allowing teachers to reuse a classroom setup rather than recreating it every term.
  • Enhanced keyboard navigation.

To avoid disruption at a time when many school years are ending, this update is not being automatically enabled on customer sites. If a district is interested in this new functionality for training and planning purposes, they can submit a request with Campus Support to have the new functionality enabled. Note: the change will apply to the entire district and once new Seating Charts are enabled, a district cannot go back to the previous Seating Charts tool.

These changes will be released to all customers this summer, targeting the Campus.2627 release at the end of June. At which time, additional learning content will also become available.

New Quiz Setting

Path: Anywhere you view assignments, such as Grade Book, Planner, or Progress Monitor > click Add split button > Quiz

A new option has been added to Quiz Settings that allows teachers to control whether students can submit incomplete quizzes. The option is called "Require responses before submitting." If the teacher leaves the checkbox marked, students must answer all questions before submitting. If the checkbox is not marked, students can submit the quiz even if they haven't answered some or all questions.

Curriculum District Library Manager

Path: Instruction > Curriculum Planning > Curriculum Library District Manager

Curriculum tools have been enhanced to allow assignments (including grading setup and scoring rubrics) to be shared from the Curriculum Library District Manager to either course sections or to My Curriculum.
