Tool Search: Residential Facility

The Residential Facility tab is used to collect data for students with disabilities who reside in residential care and treatment facilities within the geographic boundaries or jurisdiction of local educational agencies (LEAs). This tab allows users to add, edit, or delete Residential Facility student records. Users may also print a summary of all Residential Facility records for the selected student.

A Residential Facility is considered a facility that provides 24-hour custody or care of students with disabilities 22 years of age or younger for detention, treatment, foster care, or any non-educational purpose.

Creating a Residential Facility Record

Users may create Residential Facility records for students by clicking New. Users may add as many records as necessary for each student.

Facility Name

Use this field to indicate the name of the facility at which the student resides.

Database Location:

ResidentialFacility.name

Ad Hoc Inquiries:

Student > Learner > State Programs > Residential Facility > Residential Facility

Facility Number

Use this field to indicate the number of the facility at which the student resides.

Database Location:

ResidentialFacility.number

Ad Hoc Inquiries:

Start Date

Indicates the date on which Residential Facility tracking began.

While the Start Date is not required, it IS necessary for state reporting.

Notes:

Residential Facility record dates may overlap one another.

End Date

Indicates the date on which Residential Facility tracking ended.

If the End Date is left blank, state reports assume the Residential Facility record spanned the course of the current reporting enrollment (this could translate to multiple years of enrollments).
