Nebraska Ed-Fi Data v3.1 - Staff Section Association

This association indicates the course sections to which a staff is assigned.

Object Triggering Logic

This table describes logic for triggering syncing of this object.

ActionTrigger
Post

When a staff is added to a course section on Staff History.

  • Must have a Staff Type of P:  Primary Teacher or T: Teacher in the Section Staff History Table.
  • Do not send records if the Calendar Exclude check box is checked.
  • Do not send a record if the Course is marked Inactive or Exclude from State Reporting.

    • Do not send a record if an active teacher does not have any sections due to the exclude on the course.

  • Must have a role mapped to an Ed-Fi code populated to report.
  • Do not report a record if the Staff does not have an Ed-Fi ID.
  • Do not report if the course is in a school marked as exclude.
  • Do not report a record if the Staff's District Assignment record for the reporting School does not overlap the scope year the section is aligned to.
  • Only send a record for sections in which staff have an overlapping section staff history record:

    1. Only post for session names where the start date of the term is on or before the section staff history end date or the section staff history end date is null.
    2. Only post for session names where the end date of the term is on or after the section staff history start date or the section staff history start date is null.
PostWhen a Role mapped to an Ed-Fi code is added to an existing teacher on the Staff History Record.
Put

When Start or End dates are modified on the Staff History.

Post/Delete

If the start or end dates are modified on the District Assignment record or the District Assignment Record is Deleted or Added and the staff is still aligned to the section.

DeleteWhen a staff member is deleted from Staff History.
DeleteWhen a Role is removed from a Teacher on Staff History


School Exclude, Calendar Exclude, Resource Toggle and Resync Logic

This table describes the School Exclude, Calendar Exclude, Resource Toggle and Resync logic of this object.

NoneIf a resource is toggled to 'OFF' after data has sent, all sent data will remain in the ODS but no new data will send.
ResyncIf a record is in the Ed-Fi Identity Mapping table and not in the ODS, it will be deleted from the Ed-Fi Identity Mapping table.
ResyncIf a record is in the ODS and it does not have a matching record in Campus or the Ed-Fi Identity Mapping table, it will be deleted from the ODS.
ResyncIf a mapping is changed in Resource Preferences, a resync will need to be done to reflect the changes.

    • Course, When field on course is populated, report this number a staff reference and teacher of record.
    • Section, when this field is populated, report this number as staff reference and teacher of record. Section overrides course and Staff History.

beginDateMonth, day and year of a teacher''s assignment to the section. If blank, defaults to the first day of the first grading period for the section. 
  1. Report the Staff History Start date if populated.
    • If Blank, look at the District Assignment record for the teacher for that School and report Assignment Start Date if it is on or after the lowest Term Start Date and on or before the highest Term End Date for that section that is associated with the term descriptor selected for the section based on section schedule placement.
      • If District Assignment Start Date is Prior to the lowest Term Start Date, report the lowest Term Start Date for that section that is associated with the term descriptor selected for the section based on section schedule placement.
    • If the teacher has more than 1 District Assignment record that overlaps the section, report the Start Date from the most recent District Assignment record if it is on or after the lowest Term Start Date and on or before the highest Term End Date for that section that is associated with the term descriptor selected for the section based on section schedule placement.
      • If the District Assignment Start Date is prior to the lowest Term Start date, report the lowest term Start date for that section that is associated with the term descriptor selected for the section based on section schedule placement.

classroom PositionDescriptorA unique identifier used as Primary Key, not derived from business logic, when acting as Foreign Key, references the parent table.
  1. If there is a primary teacher marked as "Teacher of Record", report only this teacher.
  2. If there is a primary teacher not marked as "Teacher of Record", report the teacher marked as "Teacher of Record".
  3. If multiple teachers marked as "Teacher of Record", report the newest teacher in the group.
  4. If a Primary Teacher is not assigned:
    • A value of '01 Teacher of Record' reports for the teacher with the most recent start date. If the start dates are the same for the teachers, the staff with the lowest person ID reports.
    • All other teachers report a value of 03 Support Teacher.
    • If there was a Primary Teacher with an end date prior to the Term End Date, the other teachers remain as 03 unless their Role is changed.
  5. If Role is XX: Not State Reported, a record does not report. Errors are not seen if a person is not state reported.
  6. Default the Primary Teacher's role to ‘01: Teacher of Record’ when there is a section with a Primary Teacher and no teacher assigned to that section has a role of ‘01: Teacher of Record’.
