The Scanning toolset is a custom tool and is only available to districts who purchase these tools. The Scanning toolset is part of the Campus Workflow Suite.
Release notes provide the applicable personnel the ability to review enhancements, modifications and corrections included in a release pack prior to accepting an update. It is advised that users review the release notes carefully and alert appropriate district staff to changes in the product.
Scanning Release Notes describe all changes included within the release pack which may impact users who use the Scanning tools as add-on functionality to their existing student information system.

Attendance Calculation Update

Scanning Version 1.9.4 (12/10/2019)
Tardy Scanning
Attendance > Scanning > Tardy
- Previously, if a student is marked absent for a period of time during the school day and scans back in a later period, the Tardy Scanner was marking the student absent for present periods before the scheduled absence, even though the UI showed a present. The Tardy Scanner has been updated to properly write what is displayed in the UI. (CDP-897)

Health Office Scanner
Health > Health Office Scanner
- The Launch w/ Camera option has been added to the Health Office Scanner tool to allow users to scan in student IDs using a webcam. (CDP-501)
Tardy Scanning
Attendance > Scanning > Tardy
Several updates have been made to the functionality of the Tardy scanning tool.
- Instead of displaying a grid of the student's past attendance history when they scan in, the Tardy scanner now displays a grid of the student's schedule for the day. This includes:
- A blank line for previous periods if the student was considered present.
- Any attendance records that may have been assigned to them today.
- A label of “No attendance taken” if the class for the period does not take attendance or the student does not have class during the current period.
- A check in the Override box for the current period or class they are supposed to be in as well as any period that already has an absence record that shares a code with a record that is in the past.
- Any period with the Override checkbox marked will be updated. Past selected periods will be assigned a single code depending on the resolution strategy and future selected periods will have any codes removed. Only selected periods will be updated.
- The Resolution Strategy field has been added and displays when there is a single absence record or multiple absent records with the same absent code. Users can use the existing code or override the Excuse from the dropdown. If no existing attendance records or multiple different coded records exist, the Resolution Strategy does not display and the only option is to pick an Excuse code from the dropdown. (CDP-614)
Bug Fix
- Previously, if a student is marked as Tardy for a class and then the student scans in to the Nurse, Counselor, or a Custom Scanning location, the student would be marked Present for the class. This logic has been updated to not overwrite a Tardy. (CDP-640)

- An option has been added to configure custom scanners with a confirm page that displays the students picture, name and grade. (CDP-667)
Scan History Report
Attendance > Reports > Scan History
- A new report, Scan History, has been added to generate a view of custom scanning data for a given location over a period of time. (CDP-668)

- Custom Scanners can now be configured to print hall passes. (CDP-719)
Bug Fix
- All scanning locations now prevent students from scanning the same student number within three seconds of the initial scan. A warning displays indicating the duplicate scan was ignored. (CDP-774)

- Absence Requests cannot be made for days outside the calendar term dates. (CDP-789)
Classroom Kiosk

Teacher Attendance

- Previously, the teacher was able to have a higher tardy threshold than the Calendar absence threshold. The teacher attendance tool has been updated to prevent the teacher from exceeding the Calendar absence threshold. (CDP-793)

- If a parent enters an Absence Request with the Absence Request tool and that excuse's code matches an existing attendance excuse code, the Absence Request Processing tool automatically populates the Excuse field. (CDP-825)
