Report Preparation

This report requires local school divisions to complete the following steps:

  • Collect and appropriately code DCV data at the school level.
  • Report DCV school data to the school division (LEA).
  • Submit division-level data to the Virginia DOE.

Report Logic

This extract reports by students and includes both Offenders and Participants. One record will report per student.

If any of the following are marked, the Event will not report:

  • Events in a Calendar marked State Exclude
  • During an enrollment marked State Exclude or No Show or
  • In a Grade Level marked as Exclude from State Reporting.

Events and Resolutions must be mapped to a State Code to report.

For incidents with an Offense Code of A1T (Attendance), an event record will report if the Resolution is 01 or 04 and Offense Code 1 is populated or if the Resolution is 02 or 03 and Offense Code 1 or 2 is populated.

Records will report the following Event codes when the assigned Resolution is 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 or 06. These state codes will not report a record if the Resolution is 99. If multiple Resolutions are assigned, including a Resolution of 99, a record will report for events with a reportable Resolution.
